Gaming on Sunday. Absurdist lunacy filled in the gaps between games and all during. Appearing that day were such dadaesque creations as Captain Crunch (The one who crunches too much, not the cereal character) and Boo Bop from Tway (the one who speaks the undecipherable nonsense language which strangely sounds like variations on the McDonalds "I'm lovin' It" jingle). Read on if you dare (actually much less crazy than this opening paragraph).

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii): This my second attempt after a game over screen, in the second encounter I got another game over screen. Apparently, I left my silver-haired MU exposed and she got killed in one minor fracas with a regular soldier. Seriously? I thought I was playing conservatively. That's what got me past the first encounter, but I guess I have to surround her with every fighter I have and move through the level as if I were a dance team creatively realizing a tank. I really can't stand such careful play right from the beginning. I think I'll sell it. Next up in my Wii backlog is Zack & Wiki.

Farm Together: I spent a lot of time converting my 100 yield fields to 200 yield fields. This meant removing a few fields that couldn't be expanded. I took down my treehouse and moved my space habitat house into the center of town next to the Farmer's Union I just got. You can pay all your farmhands at the Union building which is a big relief. I don't have to make the rounds anymore. I am cranking through quests which kept me playing a long time on Sunday. Eventually, I got to a stopping point where all quests in my queue couldn't be finished in a reasonable time and I had done all the planting I could. A farmer's work is never done.

Pinball FX3 (Fish Tales): I watched a tutorial of this Williams table on youtube and then tackled the digital version within Pinball FX 3. Luckily I already owned Fish Tales. Pinball FX 3 is fantastic!. You get many ways to play a specific table like one-ball high score and survival mode. My favorite was tournament mode. People post a tournament with certain rules and a table and you try and get a high ranking. I even created my own tournament. I used tournament settings for the Fish Tales table, set it for one week, and removed replays - just like a real tournament. My first try on it set the bar very low, however, so I'm sure I won't win or even get in the top 3. However, I trapped a lot of balls with the flippers. I even knew what targets to hit, but boy is it tricky. Pinball is made to frustrate and empty the pockets of nearly everyone except the Pinball Wizard.

Dragon Quest XI S: I had very limited time with this on Sunday, but I got to the top of the Ping Yang Mountain (I think that was the name?). I'm still fighting as the Luminary (the main character) and another who I won't spoil but is not from the original magnificent seven. I can finally see his equipment and fixed him up to be my healer even though he's a fighter type. I do three times his damage, so I think he's better as a supporting character. Suck it up, royal knight! (oops)

Zuma Revenge: In my last minutes on Sunday I played a few rounds of this. What a great game! If you think about it, it takes the match-three gameplay of games like Hexic or Bejeweled and adds a shooting mechanic. Revenge is the sequel to the original Zuma I believe and it has even more level progression and specials you can level-up over time. It's great in short bursts.

That be a day. Get ready folks, that groundhog is almost upon us. Will it be an early spring or a late one? Only Punxatauny Phil can know.

How much time did you spend on each game?

FERD: 30 minutes
Farm Together: 3 hours
PInball: 1 hour
DQXIS: 2 hours
Zuma: 15 minutes

I'm guessing, but it seems right.

Aw, you're going to play Zack & Wiki?  I love that game!  It has a lot of personality and is one of the last Capcom games that had that classic Capcom feel to it.  I dunno, it's hard to describe.  One word of warning: Zack & Wiki gets REALLY HARD!  Now, granted, I was able to beat it, but I think it was one of the hardest games I've ever finished!

I think Zen Studios gave out Fish Tales for free when you downloaded the Pinball FX3 hub.

I used to listen to the GoNintendo podcast way back and they always raved about Zak & Wiki. I finally got it but it's sat in my collection for probably ten years. I'm glad you like it. I can't wait until this weekend to finally play it.

I probably got Fish Tales for free then. I was on board with Pinball FX from the beginning, what was that, 2007?

Zuma is one of those sneaky games where you think you're playing for a couple of minutes and then an hour goes by. It's like a different Bubble Bobble.

For me, any game and reading eats time like nobody's business. Sometimes it scares me.
