Not a full day today, but enough.
NieR Automata: A monthly Game Pass rewards quest challenge. I had to get 2% intel and subdue 2 enemies. I played for several hours and didn't get either. I think I was up to 10% intel and I certainly destroyed lots of enemies. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. I put the game on easy and turned on Auto-chips or something to that effect. It basically fights for you. You just move around and collect stuff. I cleared the desert and then stopped because I couldn't figure out why I wasn't making progress on the rewards quest. I would have looked it up but I don't really need the points this month. I'm already over 12k as it is and I have two new weekly quest games to try. I like the game, just not crazy about it.
Farm Together: 17 lands left. I made sushi and fish curry in one house and tiramisu and cheesecake in another. I'm calling the first one The House of Fish and the second The House of Cheese. I have a third house. What shall it be? I think Muffins and something else that uses grains. I'll call it The House of Wheat. The farmhands love them all. I also created a small garden bed in the exact dimensions of the real garden bed I am planting in real life.
Outriders demo: It took me so darn long to create a Square-Enix account and then link it to the game. It doesn't let you play unless you do so. Turns out it was something simple I did wrong on my phone but it really annoyed me. The game is okay but I quit the demo when they started sending groups of suicidal melee attackers at me. I don't even have a melee attack yet myself, or, at least they didn't show it to me in the opening levels where they introduce you to all the controls. I picked the Technomancer character type and was sniping a lot. Do you know what happens when a sniper is bull-rushed by groups of crazy mindless enemies? It breaks the game, that's what. I have a turret I can place but its recharge seems really slow. So I had enough of that nonsense.
Lego Batman: I beat just the first level of the game. I had a save from 2018 and I remember getting hung up on that first level. I got hung up on it again. It seems if you don't change Batman's suit back to normal before entering the last part of the level, you can't get it back. The change stations save the suit you have and give you the new one, but if you're wearing the same one as in the change station you just get the same one over and over. This broke the final area and I had to restart. This seems to me a very bad design flaw in the very first level. If I could've only been allowed to return to an earlier part of the level, everything would've been fine. Well, I'm still going to continue on. I hope there's nothing like that again.
I started the download on Octopath Traveler from Game Pass today. I'm excited to try that sometime soon.
