Max Plays

How can I maximize my plays, I ask myself? Why by limiting myself to a single achievement per game. When an achievement unlocks, it's off to the next game. I'm currently third on the leaderboard of my Xbox friends. I'm right behind number 2 but far behind the leader, PhantasyStar77, who has clearly been achievement hunting from the begining of the month. I'm not so much hunting for them as using them as a goal marker, or playtime limiter. Anyway, here are my plays so far this week:

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed: Got the achievement for shooting a racer while looking behind me. You can shoot backwards by doing this. I saw an online player do this and figured it out myself on World Tour mode. I still have more locations and characters to unlock.

Bee SImulator: Bought this on super sale last week. It got some middling reviews, but I couldn't resist the concept. It's pretty good so far. You create your bee, watch yourself being born from the honeycomb cell and then buzz around gathering pollen and deliveriong it to the nest. Controls are fine and it looks pretty good. You can see in bee-vision in order to locate special flowers. I like.

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure: Instead of competionist achievements in this game, there are level specific ones. So I got one for avoiding all the rolling barrels throughout a single level. Onward! Oh, I also took photos of the Skylanders and entered them into a copy of a list I found in the Complete Skylanders Collection book I got from the library. I have all 32 core Skylanders of the first game. I like the fire element ones best as shown above.

Shadowrun Returns: I restarted and made an Elf Magic-User this time. I got an achievement for "donating" to the local police fund so that they would keep me updated on the serial killer murder mystery going on in the dystopian city I'm living in.

Gems of War: I use the campaign tasks as a playtime limiter in this game since achievements at this point are all long haul affairs. I only finished one catagory of three tasks but it took me several hours still.

PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls: Cleared (ate?) all the pup treats in another story mission for an achievement. More to go.

Power Wash Simulator: I thought it would be funny to try this new addtion to Game Pass and found a new addiction. I got my friend Mark excited about it too by playing it and now he's going to buy it. You just power wash things like someone's backyard and deck like in the image below, or a car, or who knows what as I play the campaign missions. You can choose your soap, nozzles, and gun. The game tells you when you've cleaned a part of the environment completely. You tick off all the cleanable surfaces on a list and get paid. There is online co-op and some other modes as well I will try eventually.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection: Got deep into an event. Thought it ended at 20 plays and 2000 points but it keeps going. Challenges rise to Hard and then Expert as you go. Learned some new strategy while failing at them. No achievement dropped yet. I might start playing the other three casual MS games like Sudoku next.

Well that's a lot of plays. More later today whenever my car is done at the shop. I hate interrupting game time for chores. Arghh!

Interesting. I'd play it if it came to Xbox.

The first ring race I did I groaned a little expecting something terrible like has been the tradition with that gameplay element, but it wasn't too bad. I want to get to the bug battles and dancing. I forgot that bees do a dance.
