After ejoying Halo Infinite's open world exploration, I decided that was one of my favorite things in games, and so I dug up an old series to get back into, Just Cause. 

Just Cause 2

I had played the first game in the series to absolute completion years ago, so I started up Just Cause 2. This is still a very old game now, and it took me a bit to get used to the controls and rather clumsy aiming, but once I did, I started to enjoy it. I could not, however, get used to flying airplanes. I'll keep at it, but right now I'm avoiding those challenges and just roaming the world causing mayhem. 

You have a grapple cord just like in Halo Infinite but it reaches much farther. You can attach to anything, grab enemies, pull youself to a vehicle or winch up to a helicopter and steal it or grapple up skyscrapers. The helicopters are my favorite part of this series and games in general. I just love traversing the world in a helicopter. 

The game is in third-person, not first-person like Halo. Shooting is a bit haphazard but auto-aim is generous. It's just fun to chopper in to a government or gang facility and unload destruction until you can freely explore and find collectibles that let you upgrade and buy new gear. 

You can also do stunts with cars. Hit "B" and you jump to the roof of a moving car so you can jump to another one, or shoot or grapple at whatever. It's just fun to get around in Just Cause. 

Just Cause is now in it's fourth installation. I hope to get there eventually.
