A lot went on while I was blogging daily in February. I thought I'd let y'all in on every game-related thing, but it'll take a few blogs to do it. I'll start with Serious Sam.

Serious Sam 4

Both me and my friend solo cruised through all three Serious Sam games (and their DLC levels) in the Serious Sam Collection on Xbox. Then we scarfed up every achievement but two and even played, and beat, Serious Sam 3 co-op on serious difficulty. It didn't count for the achievement though. You have to beat it on single player on serious difficulty. Bah! Not fair.

Then I beat Serious Sam 4, which would've been played by my friend too, but it's only playable locally on Xbox Series S/X. You can stream it on Xbox One, but my friend didn't want to do that. I found SS4 to be the best so far, and a lot of fun. Weapons have secondary abilities where you can really wreck house. Here's an example of not so much that, but just the gory chunkiness I was playing with.

Serious Sam 4 has new grisly melee attacks like pulling out eyes out and hearts out, or even whole heads off. I have a vid I saved, but it won't play here for some darn reason.

The graphics on Serious Sam 1-3 are pretty basic compared to most AAA games but in 4 it's almost up to that level.

Graphics are not hugely important though because the whole point is to shoot at hoards of badies at an almost constant rate. However, they added side missions in SS4. Also new was riding a motorcycle in one level and parasailing with a grappling hook in another.

SS4 has a little bit easier Tourist difficulty mode than 1-3, which makes it really fun. Those secondary abilities on weapons are super powerful, making you nearly invincible. You can switch difficulty on the fly though. I was jumping around a lot to see how hard it can get. It's plenty difficult if you want it that way. The best though is just cruising around blowing enemies into big chunks and seeing what each of the weapons is capable of.

So, that was one thing in February. There's plenty more for further Catching Up blogs.
