Oh boy, this one was a tear jerker for me as they told the backstory of Rocket Raccoon's harrowing past as a laboratory animal. Otherwise, it was enjoyable.

I found the film not so exciting to me as the previous two. At one point I wanted to close my eyes and just listen to the music. The use of Spacehog's "In the Meantime" had me playing air bass in theater. I was in a band when that song came out, and I learned that bass line. Too bad my band never covered it, but we played mostly originals. Anyway, the choice of music was always something thrilling to me. There's nothing better, except live, hearing music in the movie theater. Big sound. Hey, let's list the songs used in GG3.

"Creep" (accoustic version) by Radiohead
Interesting version I've never heard before. Loses some of it's impact over the electric version, however.

"Crazy on You" by Heart
Don't remember where this was used.

"Since You Been Gone" by Rainbow
Don't remember this either.

"In the Meantime" by Spacehog
Used during a flying sequence much the way they used Bowie's Moonage Daydream in GG2. I loved every second of it.

"Reasons" by Earth, Wind & Fire
I think this was the funky tune they used to deliver a visual joke relating to the corporation's living tissue constructed space station.

"Do You Realize??" by Flaming Lips
Used to really great effect relating to Rocket's backstory. I think I was crying during this part.

"We Care a Lot" by Faith No More
A very annoying tune I never did enjoy.

"Koinu No Carnival" by EHAMIC
I have no idea what this is.

"I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" by Alice Cooper
They showed the album cover with Alice's creepy face on Quill's music device. The tune is an anthem with a large chorus I haven't heard before. It seemed very un-Alice to me, but a good tune.

"San Francisco" by Mowgli's
Don't know this one.

"Poor Girl" by X
Don't remember hearing this either.

"This is the Day" by The The
I don't know this one, but this band has the best name ever. The The. Brilliant. haha.

"No Sleep 'Til Brooklin" by Beastie Boys
They keep using Beastie Boys tunes during action sequences like in that Chris Pine Star Trek movie (I forget which one but the song was Sabotage). I found it grating, mostly.

"Dog Days Are Over" by Florence & The Machine
Don't know or remember this one.

"Badlands" by Bruce Springsteen
Used to great effect having to do with Rocket's backstory. I think I was crying during this one too.

"I Will Dare" by The Replacements
I don't remember this. I can't hear it in my head at all.

"Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone
A song to wrap up the film with like Blue Swede's Hooked on a Feeling from the first Guardians movie. The anthem of the film as a whole. Good choice.

Overall, the film was fun. Not something that will be very memorable for me though.

I don't know if I'll see this in theaters or wait until it streams.  I'm getting kind of burnt out on super hero movies.

Somebody told me everyone else is too, and that Hollywood is going to start making less of them. I wonder if that's true.

I bet with the billion dollar worldwide success of the Mario movie, we may see more video game based movies in the future.

I'm cool with that.

I think I want to see it but I'm a lot more mixed on that soundtrack than previous ones.

It's funny to see some of these 70s hits returning, especially the goofier ones like Hooked on a Feeling and Come and Get Your Love. These tunes are tailor made for commercials.
