It's been a couple years since we bought any games on Black Friday. I really don't like what has happened to Black Friday. First it was sales starting Wednesday night, then somebody moved it to Tuesday and everyone followed suit. Then it was Black Friday Week. Now friggin' "Black Friday" sales start in October. What the heck. And the game sales don't seem that good anymore. I remember getting Dishonored for the 360—a relatively new game at the time—for $25 on Black Friday and that was awesome. We'll see if anything catches my eye this year but I'm not hopeful.
Pre-Black Friday Purchases

New Switch game, new console and new retro game buys at Classic Game Junkie where they're having a pre-black friday sale. Here are some pics.
Super Mario RPG remake dropped on Friday and I picked up my preorder. I wondered if there was a collector's edition, but I didn't see one. Anyway, I saw some comparison videos and boy does this version improve on the visuals of the orginal. I'm excited to play it this month.
This is Hyperkin's Retron 77 (I bought on Amazon) and their Ranger controller there next to the joystick. It plays Atari 2600 carts, has some built in games and a memory card in case you want to replace the UI with Stella or something like that and dump a bunch of ROMS there. I watched a video on that and it looks pretty cool. However, I'm into the original carts mainly right now.
The Ranger controller includes a dial (or paddle) controller at the top. I tried to get some original paddles but I was told by Game Junkies that they are usually worn to heck and have to be refurbished before they would sell me one. To heck with that, this Ranger controller looks like the ticket. I tried it on Night Driver and so far so good. I can't wait to give it a real trial with the Breakout games.
That's: Venture for the Atari 2600 (a favorite ColecoVision game I used to play), Clayfighter for Genesis, Dragon Warrior (because it escaped my collection again), Gyruss and Swords & Serpents for NES. I was looking for Gyruss for Atari but the only one Game Junkies had was $100 in the box. That's not going to happen. All of these were under $20 each minus Game Junkie's pre-black Friday sale discount. It was like $40 all together.
Apparently some reddit communities call this sort of post "low effort" and remove them. Well poo to you will bells on, I say.
What are you buying this black friday?
