Puzzling

I started this month by making a puzzle I found at Goodwill, but then I needed to watch Philly Eagles highlights, and so I hooked up my Xbox, and now I'm trying to limit my playing to the earliest type of video games. I've started up Gamepass quests again, though, so the rules bent a bit. Here's what all:

space

This 100 XXL piece puzzle fit perfectly on my games desk. I'm currently looking for a bigger desk to do bigger puzzles, but no luck yet. Anyway, I built this pretty quickly between games on my Xbox. As you can see, a piece is missing and another one is slightly busted. What do you want for $3. Still, I'm going to try and frame it when I find the right frame. It's a process: find a good puzzle, build it, frame it.

Breakout Recharged: This is a remake of Breakout with vector style graphics (I think). It's good and controls reasonably well. I played through all the modes and a lot of the challenges. You can play co-op but only on one console. It would've been cool if they made some sort of online multiplayer similar to Tetris 99 or something like that.

Solitaire Tripeaks Flowers: This is the tripeaks variant of Solitaire with nice graphics and some other variations on the game. You are also growing flowers and earn coins by selling them. Winning levels and earning stars for time, streak, and completion grows more flowers. It's fun.

Then I had to get Game Pass rewards. I tried to find some older style games in there I hadn't played before but didn't. So I just played something quick and it became this:

Paw Patrol: Grand Prix: This has been my goto for a quick Game Pass reward and achievement, and it's not bad at all. I only wish I could change the control scheme a bit.

I've been looking around for puzzle games and played a few somewhat briefly: Cocoon, Tin Hearts, and Maquette. I also considered the 8Floor games to be somewhat basic and reloaded a bunch of their management/contruction casual games. I settled in on Royal Roads which I still had a lot left to do.

Oh yeah, and social games trump everything, and Mad Krammer and I played a bunch of Minecraft across Xbox Series X and S. We attacked the Nether a bunch of times and just gave up finding the Fortress. Now I'm onto just enchanting items and hopefully finding the Stronghold. to heck with the Nether. It's so hard to navigate even on Peacefull mode. They've made Minecraft's worlds so huge now, it's a real bear to get around.

Well, that's a week or two. I'd like to get some board gaming in next.

Yeah, well, my friend isn't too interested in playing any new board games with me. He only wants to play the old classics, which I find kind of boring now. So I'm trying to focus my Xbox gaming on the oldest of styles to match closest to console Gen 1, not an easy task.

My dad loves jigsaw puzzles.  He used to do them all the time.  He can't do them right now, though, because his grandkids want to 'help' him by hiding pieces or seeing how far they can throw them.

I got to review a couple of those "Recharged" Atari remakes, but after a while they stopped responding to my emails requesting review copies.  Oh well.

I'm still looking for a larger table to do the 1000 piece puzzle I have. My current table is just find for something 15x20 or less. I need 24x30 for the 1k puzzle.

The Breakout one isn't too bad. I only wish there was online play or a level editior.
