The next 25 games on Metacritic for the GBA. I'll have my favorites, but I'll look up everything and see what's available to me to try out.
26. 35. Final Fantasy Tactics and FFIV - Both of these have a remastered version available everywhere. I don't have the original carts for these though. I have FFT on PS1 and FFIV on DS, but I wish listed the remasters in case they go on sale. I've had very good experiences with remasters of late.
27. Sonic Advance - Even though I'm often baffled by Sonic games and can't play them well, I do like the graphics of this game. It seems to be an original game and not a port. It was on Wii Virtual Console at one time but doesn't seem to have been ported anywhere else. Too bad, I'd have picked up a compilation to get at this game for a trial run.
28. Golden Sun: The Lost Age - I traded this out of frustration but it's available on Switch Classics, and so I may give it another shot, especially since I got a lot farther recently in the first game.
29. 34. Tony Hawk's Underground, Pro Skater 4, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 - The Tony Hawk series seems weird on a handheld but it seemed like, at the time, everything got a GBA version regardless of the type of game. I think a BMX game, like maybe Excitebike, might actually be interesting.
30. 31. 48. Moto Racer Advance, F-Zero Maximum Velocity, Racing Gears Advance - Racing games are a hard sell for me on handheld but that F-Zero game is on Switch Classics, and so I will give it a run. Racing Gears is a top down view game like R.C. Pro-Am and involves combat. Interesting. I'd pick it up for cheap if I saw it.
32. Astro Boy: Omega Factor - I've seen some of the 1963 Astro Boy anime and a little more of the 2003 anime this game is based on. I became a fan of director Dezaki Osamu who did the first series, The Might Orbots and storyboarded the 2003 Astro Boy among many other projects. This, plus dafman's recomendation, has me very interested in this game.
33. Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones - This sequel to the first Fire Emblem is thankfully in my collection, although, it is also on Switch Classics. I'm excited to get into it.
37. 39. 41. Mario Golf Advance Tour, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Advance - There's always a bunch of Mario games in the top ranks of the MC list. Mario Golf is interesting to me.
38. 49. Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival, Street Fighter Alpha 3 - Also fighting games are a hard sell for me. I guess with a link cable these could be fun across two GBAs and two real players.
40. Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace - By the same dev as the first two console games that got such good reviews on PS2/Xbox/NGC, Vicarious Visions. I'd try it for a buck.
42. 50. Puyo Pop, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo - Both are that tile matching variation on Tetris that I enjoy especially on handheld. I'm not sure where to get Puyo Pop (other than physical) but Super Puzzle Fighter is on Capcom Arcade Stadium. The HD Remix version is still available on Xbox and is where I learned of the series way back on Xbox 360's Live Arcade. I'd love to own both of these physical on GBA.
43. Rayman - Or Rayman Advance is the first game in the series ported to the GBA. I love the graphics of these games but they are always brutally difficult.
44. Legend of Zelda - Part of the Classic NES Series just like Super Mario Bros. above. Ah, the days before digital delivery of classic games, you had to get a physical cart.
45. ChuChu Rocket - An interesting action/puzzle game that used to have a iOS/Android port but no longer. Too bad, I'd like to try it.
46. Virtual Tennis - Sports, racing and basically a lot of action games are not my prefered choice for handheld. Puzzle, turn-based rpgs, strategy and maybe shmups are the things for me.
47. Klonoa: Empire of Dreams - Thankfully I still have this in my collection but you can also play it on Switch Classics. Strangely, it is not part of the Phantasy Reverie Collection. I really love the Klonoa series even though I can never finish any them.
And that's the 26-50 GBA games on Metacritic. I figure I'll keep going with this as long as it takes for me to go through my collection for the system (maybe through March?). But next is another 25 PS2 games on MC because I'm still getting through those, although, I'm getting close to finishing it up for the year.
