With this generation coming to a close, Plus10damage thought they would list the top 25 games on every system ever. Well, the main ones, cos aint nobody got time for that! We recently concluded the top 25 NES Games. Look at it here http://plus10damage.com/blog/nestop2525to21

Now, it is important to note that I had no part in this list, because NES is before my time and I grew up Sega systems anyway. So please, please don't complain to me. Send all your death threats to Travis, Steve and Jamison. God knows they deserve it.

The list isn't too horrible. I really love Super Mario Bros 2 though and they left it out.
Why can't you play NES games? There are plenty of emulators out there.

I do play NES games. I just haven't played enough to really have a part in the list. I'm more familiar with SNES, Megadrive, N64, PS1 etc.

We actually argued for all three Super Mario Bros. games. We just thought 3 was the superior game in the franchise, and we were only allowed one from each series based on our rules.

The only top NES lists I recognize are ones with Super Mario Bros 3 at number one.

It's number 2, it's close enough lol.

I argued for that, but it was two against one. I definitely prefer Mario 3 over Zelda.

I a gree with the list except Mario 2 and zelda 2 and mario needs to be on the list but it was pretty acurate to say the least.

They had a one game per series rule unfortunately.

I would have liked to have them all on, but with our one per series rule we had to choose the ones we felt were best. The nice part about that rule is that it allowed us to have many different games.

There's a typo. Someone accidentally wrote "Star Tropics" instead of anything else.

Bahahaha Yeah I disagree with some of this list too. Then again, it's not my list, so I was always going to. I think they did a good job overall.

Star Tropics was a Travis inclusion. It was a very good game, but blame Travis.

Hahaha... Sorry about that. I was a bit harsh. The list is pretty good. I never played Star Tropics when it was new, but playing it with fresh eyes today exposes a lot of its problems. I am sure I would feel differently if I had some nostalgia for it. That said, ignore my rude comment. I'll make sure to check out more articles on the site.

Hey back in the day Star Tropics was the shit lol!!!Tongue Out

No worries. I thought it was hysterical. Besides any time I can make fun of our Travis I like to take advantage of that.

This list is decent. Mine would have been different though. Metal Gear and Kid Icarus are crappy games and don't belong in a top 25. I didn't care for Rygar either and there are better beat em ups than TMNT II on NES. I'm also kinda shocked that Excitebike made it but whatever.

Alright. When I'm on the podcast (which I'm informed will be sometime soon) I'll tell the guys that you disagreed with their list lol! What's wrong with Kid Icarus?

I was probably a bit too harsh. Kid Icarus was pretty innovative at the time. The game is a nightmare later on though. Julian Titus wrote a review of it that explains it better than I can. I also didn't say Excitebike was bad like Alex implied. I'm just surprised it made it on the list. That's a solid game, but nothing too memorable. I am kinda grumpy at times though lol. Sorry about that. Embarassed

Don't worry Aaron. Even if I like the games, my comments wasn't really serious and it wasn't an attack.

Aaron, I am the last person you should apologise to for being grumpy :p That was a joke lol. As for excitebike, that was picked by Jamison, and I think that excitebike is listed for the same reason MG was - it sort of created a genre, and if not created, than pioneered. MG gave us stealth, excitebike gave us stuff like trials and Joe Danger. It's more their legacy than their actual gameplay in these cases.

Metal Gear was listed for the genre definition. Kid Icarus is great (and super hard), but totally deserved it's spot. I love excitebike and it is memorable to me. A little bit of nostalgia went a long way for that one. Plus track creation was an excellent addition for the NES

Good list. Eihther through emulation or on the Wii's Virtual Console, I have played if not many, a good portion of NES games. Even if it isn't number one, atleast Mario 3 made it there. Last year when I re-started the game, I discovered why it was so well beloved. Definitly a jewel. Also, don't believe the comment of Aaron above me lol. Kid Icarus and Excitebike are great.

Aaron is just an old grumpy man who loves his NES. Ah well, I still lovez him :p
