In the words of the wise, headless Ned Stark, "winter is coming." That's a fact. It's always coming. That's not at all relevant to this conversation, but the show is nearly back on and I'm excited.

Anyway, games are also coming. CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM! Or don't. See what I care. OK I CARE! Please click? It'll, ah, FUND THE WAR ON TERROR! Or... it'll FUND THE WAR ON TERA! Which is a game. Alternatively, it'll FUND THE WAR ON PANDA CELIBACY! Yeah. Save the Panda's motherfucker!

Star Wars Battlefront unfortunately isn't coming until 2015. Otherwise it would definitely be on my list. I completely agree with you on Titanfall too. Hell, one of CoD's issues is that there's too many idiots running around, 6v6 tells me they're balancing it.

Damn. That'll teach me not to trust Wikipedia. It said late 2014. Ah well. I'm still looking forward to it lol.

Yeah. Games should only have as many players as they need. Would Street Fighter work with 16 players? Fuck no. The dev's know what is best. Plus they're having an AI minion system which could be a bit like a MOBA game in some respects. Seriously, these are the guys who made the original Modern Warfare. I think they know how to make a good multiplayer game.

Parkour mechs having to survive nature and occassionaly getting into 6v6 battles with werewolves would be great. Slap some dark poetry about snow in there, and I'm golden.

Speaking of Australians signing up for things, my Hawaiian friend who hates Hawaiian pizza posted this on Facebook: http://www.buzzfeed.com/thomasbevans/the-most-insulting-and-offensive-pizza-in-the-worl-60vz cause she hates Hawaiian pizza.

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawaiian_pizza), which cited a PMQ article from 1999 (http://www.pmq.com/Winter-1999/PMQ-Goes-To-Australia/), the Canadian-born pizza (http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkintheroad/2010/04/do_hawaiians_ea.php) accounts for 15% of all Australian pizza sales. Circa 1999, I guess ...

So, do you like Hawaiian pizza? If not, do other Australians? My friends order one every time we have an eating contest at http://www.cicispizza.com/. My friend Kalei hates it. I haven't had it enough to be for or against that heavily. You and the country of Australia (all of the continent of Australia too, if you'd like)  are therefore the tiebreaker vote.

I neither love it or hate it, but I know a lot of people here who absolutely adore it.

So me: 0

My friends Wes and Austin: 2

You: 0

Kalei: -1

So a total score of 1 for Hawaiian pizza, until ...

Australia: 18.93 million based on 1999 figures (https://www.google.com/search?q=australia&oq=australia&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i59l2j0j69i60l2.2776j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=australia+population&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAGOovnz8BQMDwzkOHiVO_Vx9g-SM9IxKLdPsZCv9nPzkxJLM_Dz94hIgXVySmZyYE1-Umg4UsirILyjNAcvGl-cX5aTEJyXmZXcxOnEhDBGi0JAUAzODdDINMbjdXa8WPe-8RdDPrOx1e63d92v2AwBSX1_t6wAAAA) x .15 (based on 1999 stat from PQM) = 2,839,500.

So, in other words, Hawaiian pizza has won by 2,839,501 points, as far as 1999 population data and Hawaiian pizza consuming data.

Assuming Hawaiian pizza eating has remained at roughly the same percentage of the population, that number could only go up with the population's increase to 22.68 million in 2012. Well, then. I have way too much time on my hands. They need more porn, it would seem.

Indeed. Who needs more porn? Is porn a substitute for hawaiian pizza? I'd totally choose porn every time.

I laughed at the Battlefield/Battlefront mashup. I even mistook it for the real Battlefield 3 promotion.

Anyway, the more I hear about the things of Titanfall will have, the more I get interested in trying the game. Will it come to PC?

Yeah. PC and Xbox only,

I read somewhere that bad responces from a test group made them push the game out to 2014 for more work (which is basically what they said in your link too). This has me worried a bit but the wiki page says the devs have described it as a spiritual successor to Hexen and Witchhaven and that's all I need to know to be on board.

Yeah. Look, the devs can create a good game. Dead Island had a LOT of great ideas, and just a few really bad ones that held it back. I believe they are up to the task, and I just really want to play a modern hexen. Aaron bought me the game because he's awesome and I fell in love with it.

Yeah. Pushing a game back is in most cases a good thing. Games like Aliens: Colonial Marines and Duke Nukem Forever were terrible because of how many different hands touched them more than the time it took. Also, if it's just a year, they're getting time to tighten things up a bit.

I'm sure you already know all this, but I just watched a metric butt-ton of Extra Credits and I feel like being positive :) (If you haven't seen it, it's great. Game criticism focused on positivity and research and co-designed by someone who works in video games, so it focuses on both what developers can do and what players can do)

I agree that holding back a game is a good thing. Usually, it's when a game is rushed that it ends up full of bugs or just plain bad. Just about every movie liscenced game has that problem.

"modern Hexen" just makes me all aquiver with excitement.

Hellraid is like Heretic? Hmmm. I'll have to keep an eye on that one. As usual I don't know any games on your list lol.  That doesn't stop me from leaving lame comments like this though. Tongue Out

Blake Turner Staff Writer

That's mostly the point man. A lot of these games will be unknown until the later portion of the list. That's why I chose 40, so I could get a bunch of games you mightn't have heard of exposure to people who might like them, and then faun over Dark Souls 2 for nine hours in the last article :p

Again, thanks for heretic! I think this plays more like Hexen as it has classes and stuff, plus some light rpg elements. Should be awesometastic. Speaking of which, I may be sounding like a broken record at this point, but how's your pc?

Aboboisdaman

01/30/2014 at 06:13 PM

Yeah. That's what I figured. I haven't given up on Hexen yet. There's just a billion other games to play lol. Perhaps when Brutal Hexen comes out (fingers crossed!) I'll be more motivated to try it again.

Im really loving my new PC. I'm currently playing Brutal Doom II and Quake 4 again. It's been so long since I played that. It definitely seems more like a modern FPS in comparison to the other Quake games. I'd say it's better than Doom 3 though. Hopefully we can play something together soon.

Cool. I heard Quake 4 was like Doom 3 so I shied away. So it's worth playing then? Yeah Brutal Hexen looks great! I can't wait! Oh, and I can't wait either!

I'd say so. I think Quake 4 runs off the same engine. So it feels kinda similar. It has much more emphasis on action though, and there's some really cool stuff like piloting giant mechs, tanks and what not. I will probably review it when I'm done with it. I don't know what else to talk about right now anyway lol.

Fair enough. How does it feel and sound though? My biggest problem with Doom 3 was that the weapons didn't feel or sound powerful, which made shooting feel bland as hell.
