Remember I said I won't buy RockStar games, well.....

That was before I remembered that they were responsible for L.A. Noire and I've always wanted to play that game.

It just so happened that PSN has a RockStar sale on this week and so I made myself a liar by buying L.A. Noire and all the DLC for just over 10 bucks and as usual no tax!

I also thought I bought The Evil Swine Return but that's another Wild Adventure. LOL

LA Noire is one of those games that I was ultra excited about, preordered, and then never played. I will play it at some pnt, though.

Why were you not buying Rockstar games?

I have a problem with a company that churns out games glorifying criminal activity and murder as fun things for kids to do. It's a GTA thing.

Yes I know there are a lot of adults who play these games and know the difference but R* have built an empire selling this shit to 12 year olds and kids in their early teens.

That last statement brings up another issue that I have. That of negligent parents who buy these games for young children having no clue that little Johnny is raping and killing hookers, or worse not caring about such activity in games.

I discussed this with Blake in another blog thread. I don't judge other adults who choose to enjoy that kind of game. It just goes against everything I am.

LA NOIRE is pretty cool.  You can play it in black and white mode.

ultracool.  I did.

I figured 10 bucks, I have nothing to lose.

Although I wish I'd seen Deadly Premonition Directors Cut Ultimate for $19.99 before I made my decision. I'm going to need another card. LOL

There's a lot on sale this week.

yeah i'm going to rebuy Gungnir which is $10.  I have it on UMD, but I want to play it on my Vita.  Good game if I'm willing to buy it twice. I never finished it, but I want to, it's really good.

I picked up on the 360.  I still hadn't played it yet.

Wait there's a sale on DLC for LA Noire? I might have to check this out...of course I also would have to play my copy that I haven't touched.

I read your response about your dislike about R*. I get it, and that's why I don't have a problem with stores swiping my ID when I purchase games like that, but I do blame parents who don't take the time to check what they are buying for their kids.

Yep, the season pass for L.A. Noire is something like $2.49.

I don't know the number of times I've watched in disgust as some idiot walks up to the counter at EB sometimes with a child who seems to be under 10 and they tell the sales person they're ok with that kid playing a GTA. The old "they see worse than this on TV every day." They should all be forced to watch someone play the game for a couple of hours.

I've played a few Rockstar games. Red Dead Revolver, Max Payne, and The Warriors are about the extent of it. I played a very little amount of Vice City and bought the 80's soundtrack for that game. I've come close to buying Bully and Table Tennis. I'm kinda like you with GTA. I don't like playing a bad guy in a game, or at least a questionable one.

I don't have much interest in the games Rockstar makes, but LA Noire was an exception. I need to pick that game up eventually (and a new TV, system to play it on, etc.).

I would highly recommend that you checkout Red Dead Redemption at some point, in my opinion, it's definitely one of the best of this past generation, and the world & the boat load of content is an absolute blast to explore. And if it's a concern of yours, there is far more of an emphasis on morality in the game both narratively and in terms of play than GTA.

I've always been curious as to whether I would like the Read Dead games. I'm not the biggest Western fan but when I've heard people talk about the exploration it has piqued my interest.

I thought about buying that game too but I was too busy to find out if the PS3 disc version has a definitive edition with all the DLC on the disc like the Fallout games that came out on the PS3.

I hope I didn't make a mistake in not buying the DLC itself.
