I finally worked up the will to beat Bravely Default

It was one of those boss battles. You know the kind right? Oh well I'm not going to beat him this time but next time I'll do this and this and bring more of that.

You've used up everything you've got, you're against the ropes about to utter a whimpering No Mas! Then you land that final hit and it's over but you can't quite believe it.

Anyway all I have to do is do the same thing in Tales of Graces F and I'm finished the RPGs I've been working on. I can now move on to something totally unrelated.

Oh, did I forget to mention I bought Conception II for 3DS last week. D'oh!

I know the boss.

from what I've heard from Angelo, Chris Y, and Mike, that whole back half of that game is enormously frustrating.  I dunno, I wanted to play it, but I've heard so much griping about it, now I don't think I will. It seems like a good game, but just frustrating.

*Minor spoilers below but not really because they're all over the interwebs.*

It is a very good game but it slows right down in Chapter 5 and has you restoring the same 4 crystals and fighting the same 4 bosses for the last 4 chapters. There are side quests you can do and previous boss battles you can tackle again on top of that but you don't have to.

You can also skip right to the end if you know what to do but you don't get the true ending.

Of course getting the true ending involves one 3 stage battle and one 5 stage battle

Watching the ending and the bonus video was cool. I will be buying the second game regardless of the frustration.

I heard you can just bring in a character from street pass and make the game a little too easy.

Not exactly. If you have friends playing the game you can send or recieve a move from them, be that healing or attack. However you can only use that move once. It's not something you can spam during battle. You use the move and then cannot summon that same friend again until they update.

The end game is far from easy and requires a lot of strategy. In retrospect though the final battle was actually pretty damn cool and the movie that shows up afterwards foreshadows the next game.

That's a reall cool feature, bringing friends in to battle, even if it's only for one move.

That's one thing I definitely have to give to the developers. There isn't a single feature of the 3DS that they didn't use.

I hadn't started Bravely Default yet.  I barely played the demo.

I beat Tales of Graces f a few days ago.  I thought it was pretty good.  Right now I'm playing through some of the extra stuff.

I picked up Conception 2 too.  I played through the demo.  I think I'll like it.  I'm trying to finish Dragon Quest 4 (DS) before I start Conception.

I've really enjoyed Tales of Graces and I could just run to the final battle but I've become caught up doing Inn Requests and it's always just one more and then I'll fight the boss. :)

I completed a lot of the Inn requests because I like to dualize stuff and I never get rid of anything.  I just check the requests and I find that I can knock them out right on the spot.

Ah, but it feels so good when you win by the skin of your teeth in those big epic fights. Cool

I need to finish Graces too. Seems all I play as of late is Skyrim and Borderlands 2. I'm afraid its been so long that I will have to restart so I will know what the heck is going on.

That is one hell of a feeling when it seems like you go Hail Mary on it and win. Awesome stuff man, congrats!

Tales of Graces f is good. I love Bravely Default as well. Best 3DS game so far.

I've got to take a break from RPGs and play something from my backlog of non-rpg games which is relatively humungous.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my experience with that boss. Though I lucked out and had a shield equipped that nulled one of the nastier attacks so it wasn't as bad.

I love that feeling of finally beating a boss who's been giving you trouble for a while.

I know that feeling all too well. I felt that mostly when I played Lunar and Lunar II. Congrats on your epic win. A winner is you!
