Shut up and have some music.

Chrysalis - Akphaezya

Like Unexpect, but find that they lack the catchy hooks? Like Diablo Swing Orchestra, but wish the chick would sing normally and not with opera? Then this is for you! This mix of metal, cabaret, and swing is brilliant. The rest of the album is fucking mental, but this song is as catchy as ebola in sections.

Push Buttons - Stolen Babies

More Jazzy Dark Cabaret Rock/Metal! Because themes are fun :D. These guys are seriouy awesome!

We Aren't the World - Dog Fashion Disco

So... are you a fan of Mr Bungle? Yes? Then you will FUCKING ADORE THESE GUYS! They're basically a modern Mr Bungle with their mix of Jazz, rock and punk.

True North - Devin Townsend

Okay, let's have something a bit prettier! Hearing Devin Townsend come in with the lyrics: "I love you/I need you/I've always been around you" In a very 80s pop manner and then break into hard rock is bizarre, but fucking sweet nonetheless.

AAA - Strapping Young Lad

That last track is even more jarring if you know Devin from this band... This song sounds like a progressive/heavier Rob Zombie... If Rob Zombie had talent.

Anyway. Did you like any of these songs? Do you know any bands that sound similar to these Jazzy metal songs? If so let me know, because I need more of this shit!

Chrysalis...my ears....they are cumming. I need to look up more on them. The jazzy piano sections are pretty leet too. The cover art for Devin Townsend reminds me of a time-lord regenerating...while rocking out. lol.

Yeah, I discovered Akphaezya today haha. They were what prompted me to write this blog.

And the thing about Devin? You're right it does look like a Regeneration. I mean this is the guy who wrote a concept album about an alien threatening to destroy earth if they didn't give him the greatest cup of coffee ever because he's a "badass rockstar," where the main hero (captain spectacular) sets out to prove the Alien is a nerd.

Sounds a bit like Dr. Horrible's sing along blog. As in Captain Hammer picking on Horrible for being a nerd. "And by hammer I mean penis. It's my penis."

Only listened to tracks 1 and 2 so far.

Akpaesya - Excellent. Minimal use of devil voice not annoying at all. Everything else is brilliant

Stolen Babies - Fuck yeah! Where can I get me some more of this?

You don't do this as often as you should.

Comments on other tracks to come.

Have I shown you Diablo Swing Orchestra? If not, you should definitely check them out. They're similar to both those bands, but with more emphasis on catchiness and with no devil vocals.

Glad you liked them though :)

Yeah, you did DSO on 1UP. I loved it too.

I love when you do blogs like this and this is no exception.

I loved the last three. We Aren't the World for its twisted sound and apocalyptic lyrics, True North for being spacie and epic and AAA was just awesome Industrial Metal overall.

Rob Zombie is awesome though.

Rob Zombie is alright... not amazing by any stretch though.

And thanks, I'm glad someone likes them. Only like 3 people tend to read them haha.
