My Nostalgic Vacation is Over. . . for now.

Well, my friend Mark finally has his gamer-tag up and running again on Xbox 360, and so it's back to modern gaming as usual, playing co-op in new and exciting virtual worlds. I expect to log twenty hours or so in EDF 2025 this weekend.

In my Nostalgic Vacation series, I managed to get through 1988 and I have partial blogs written for years '89-'92. I just need to find the time now to finish the games, which I'm trying to do after work during the week, but so far I haven't been able to get past my daily Mii-Plaza games, which are, by the way, really fun. I got the four new games there and it's a blast bringing in street-pass Mii's to play with you. It's part of my daily ritual now. So Nostalgic Vacation is partially on hold now until I can catch up little by little.

On top of all that, I want to beef up my character in Silent Hill: Book of Memories on Vita so I can play more confidently with daftman in multiplayer, and I want to start a new gaming habit that is based on my most anticipated game at the moment, which is CodeName: S.T.E.A.M., a 3D turn-based strategy game coming to 3DS in 2015. That means I'd like to start Pokemon Stadium, which is first on the critics list for best console game in that style. I played it back when on N64 and liked it quite a bit. Turns out it's not an expensive game to pick up, and my friend Mark might actually still have his copy I can borrow.

And oh yeah, I just got Fist of the North Star in the mail for NES. I could play it, but it can't go on my Nostalgic Vacation because I'm done with that year. Do I save it, or do I play it? I haven't decided yet.

Phew! That's a lotta stuff. How can I do it all? I don't know, but I'm going to try.

I'm going to miss the series a little. I would have been interested in seeing which games you'd tackle during the 90s and new millenium.

I'll see if I can carve out some time during my EDF sessions this weekend.

I'm trying to keep doing it. I'll think of a way.

I may not have been replying but I have been reading. I welcome your vacation's return.

If I can finish the '89 one this weekend, I can post that one at least. I want to get some time in during the week. Then I can at least put in an hour or so a day to work on these retro games.

I know I haven't gotten to comment on all these Vaction posts but I still think this is such a cool idea and I've enjoyed the ones so far. Looking forward till when you can start it up again! The problem, of course, is that you're getting into much longer games now lol.

I want to continue it. It's just a time thing now that my friend Mark is back online. I think I can continue it during the week. I'm going to try.

It was good while it lasted. It was nice given How I didn't feel the urge to have a retro summer this year. It just didn't get hot enough to put me in the mood for some old skool gaming goodness this summer. Perhaps next year.

But the plus to it is that the recent change of weather has put me in the mood for Octoberween. It feels so close!

I'm back on the nostalgic vacation, gearing up to finish 1989.

October is my favorite month of the year. I'm going to have to think of a Halloween thing. It's on a Friday, so I'll be working, but that weekend or the one before it should be good for some sort of wacky Halloween fun.

Dang a break? I was digging this series because I remember either playing, or hearing about these games. The positive is that your friend has his system up and running again so you guys can play Co-op.

We did that last weekend, but I think I'll go back to the retro thing this weekend and revive the Nostalgic Vacation. I really, really want to continue with it.
