Made a Gamestop Pitstop

I had one game on my to-play list that wasn't at least eight years old, and so I was able to locate it at a Gamestop in my area. I was off again to pick up another video game but this time at a most nonretro store. PIcture below.

I've been wanting Angry Birds Star Wars since it was available on Xbox Live about a year ago. Thing is, it's still $40 there. Recently there was a sale on Xbox One where it was $20, but I don't have a Xbox One yet, so no go. Then I realized this came on a disc and found it on sale at Gamestop for $17. So that's where I got it.

I've seen my nephew play this on his phone. I thought the levels were really creative and interesting. I liked the humorous way they handled all the Star Wars characters too. On my current to-play list, this is near the bottom, but if I get done with Resident Evil 4, I'll have this to start this weekend. My regular gaming buddy has this game as well, so we'll probably play it at the same time, although I don't think it has any kind of multiplayer component. I have a feeling though the DLC for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will drop on Sunday and tempt me to play that instead.

well, you're definitely getting your money's worth out of Borderlands, man.  I miss playing co-op with my brother.  Maybe when he shows up for xmas we'll do some.

Co-op is such the irresitable element for me. I will plan to play all sorts of stuff on the weekend, but if my friend Mark says, "let's play Borderlands", I'm dropping everything to do that.

Completely unrelated from topic at hand, but is your 360 at your buddy's or at your place? I'd love to co-op some Lego Star Wars sometime. All those Lego games should have had online co-op.

It varies. I usually carry it over there on Sunday and it stays there through Monday and then I bring it home. This week I left it there all week long. I was setting up a station at home to play some in the wee hours after work, but so far I haven't had enough time to get to it. I get home, make some grub, check the nets, and then it's like bed time.

Why more LEGO games don't have online co-op is beyond me, but I guess most people play it couch co-op. You know, kids with their parents.  I'd love to play some Lego Star Wars if I can just find the time. I was trying to play some Silent Hill Book of Memories with daftman, but that was kinda touch and go. I get over to my friend Mark's place and we're co-oping some shooter like all day long. I don't know what to do about it really except get a day time job so I have time during the week. That would be really cool. I've got to work on that.

Oh yea, Lego Indiana Jones 2 also has online co-op. I think those are the only two.

Digital games are too expensive.  Just another reason phyical games are awesome.  Unless a sale is going on the digital game, you're just throwing money away.

My son was playing that game on his tablet last night.  I've never playing an Angry Birds game.

I mean ... I feel pretty content with Steam sales. lol

But for newer games on PS4 and XBO etc. you probably are right. I just don't have newer consoles.

Digital sales on PC are great.  I've bought PC games and my PC can't even handle playing them.  I was refering to games on XBL and PSN.  Many years go by and the game is still $40.  Crazy.

I've picked up a lot of games now on Xbox Live sales, but I wonder if those games will always be able to be played. I mean what if MS cuts off it's live service to the 360 like it did to original Xbox, and I haven't downloaded the game yet, even though I bought it. That worries me a bit, but I can't turn down $5 games that I want to play, even if they are only in the cloud? Nope.

I also share this fear.  Once my hard drive was full, I stopped buying games on XBL.  Once the service is gone, there goes "your" games and your money.  Hopefully, you didn't spend too much.  From time to time, I rebuy the physical copies of my digital games when I see them real cheap.  Then, I can delete the games from my hard drive creating space for new digital games I see on sale.  Every digital game I bought on my 360 and PS3 was less than $10.  Most of them were under $5.  The most expensive thing I bought was dlc for Mass Effect 2 and 3.  Freaking $15 each for a couple of them!  Never again for a developer/publisher that continues to piss me off.

I also buy stuff mostly at the $5 price point on Xbox Live. I usually don't even download them until I'm ready to play them unless they are arcade titles, which are smaller files anyway.

I reviewed Angry Birds Star Wars when it came out.  It's all right.  Great bits of humor and parody, though.

Humor always attracts me to a game.

I can't get myself to play Angry Birds anymore, not after hearing that news report in how the NSA uses that game to track us....

They should've used Minecraft instead.

Hey Star Wars Angry Birds! I haven't tried the console versions yet, just the tablets, and the Vita.

There's supposed to be some exclusive content for the consoles, but maybe not because I don't see any mention of it on the wiki page. I thought I saw something in the menus on Xbox 360 though.
