It's an article on Hatred and the ending of MGS Ground Zeroes. It's a little bit late, but hey - christmas. Enjoy!

Banning the use of almost anything is just stupid.

Bomb in the vagina?  Wish I'd thought of that. Cool

Skip to after the gut picture. I start talking about Hatred then.

I thought the outcry over Hatred was dumb, but the violence wasn't what was wrong with that game so much as how it was used in context. The game uses violence, but not in any way that is tasteful or relavant. Whereas in GTA or South Park, where objectionable content would be used to prove a point or show something about society, the violence in Hatred is just there to be a selling point. The violence in Hatred is merely aesthetic and doesn't serve a purpose other than to make it so the developers can say "Oh this game is dark and broody, you shoot stuff and there's blood, omg so edgy". It's not like the game innovates or improves on any gameplay formula. This game is just a regular top down shooter with a veneer of edgyness, and honestly, a lot less offensive than a lot of other games.

Exactly. If people are actually offended by this it's basically because they're sheltered twats who need to make up things to be upset by. Seriously. The game is stupid, but hardly offensive. It's a game where you kill people. Like that's never been done before!

And while you may argue GTA is a satire now, I'd say it's only been that way since the third one. The first two were top down civillian murder simulators, as the original Postal. Oh, and Manhunt is also literally the gaming version of a snuff film. Like that game wasn't trying it's hardest to be edgy.

The thing about Hatred is that it was made with the specific intent to offend these people and they succeeded. Those people gave them tons of publicity while people who weren't even interested in Hatred are going to buy it to spite them. They did exactly what the developers wanted. If that's not a sign these people suck, I don't know what is

Reminds me of how Tumblr reacts to something they find "offensive" or "triggering" (read: not like or agree) and sometimes rally for a cause when the simplest option would have been to ignore it and not give attention. Hatred is one of those things. For me, if it's not hurting someone fatally or widespread, then just let it go, don't give something attention or it will never be gone.

Speaking of Hatred again, great to see it's been proven the devs are not Neo-Nazis. I think the person that made that false claim (a tumblr blog named fucknovideogames) must be feeling like a tool.

Tumblr can go fuck an aborted fetus IMO. Half the time their offense is more offensive than the offender anyway.

Actually it was the CEO of the company that liked a Neo-Nazi page on his facebook account, and his defense was pretty lame. It was something like, "I don't watch the news, I get my news from the Internet and I get news about the Middle East from this Neo-Nazi page". That's like me getting my news from Stormfront. Fucking lying scumbag. That tumbler page was actually correct, and some gaming sites did press them on the affiliation to Nazi groups aftewards. They're just stirring up shit to get hype for their shitty game. I don't care about the content of the game either way.

Do you have proof? If not, I think I'll believe the other guy thank you. You don't have to support something to like it on facebook. I liked a Jehovah's Witness thing on facebook despite hating the religion just so I could find out which of my old friends used facebook now (even though the religion is against it).

I think Totalbiscuit said it best, "If Netflix can have the Human Centipede 2 on their service I'm sure you can handle a game about killing imaginary people." If anything, we should stop things that make people dumber, like Honey Boo Boo or Kardashians.
