A Day is a Day is a Day, and this Day, I Played Some Games

I headed out the door to go to my friend’s place this morning. I brought my 3DS because I was going to play Fantasy Life as much as possible. I figured that I better bring my Xbox 360 too so I could check the sales. What ended up happening is Diablo III co-op. So much for my plan to stick to one game until it’s done. Well, you gotta give it up to Diablo III. It’s a great game.

Cheesesteaks and sweet, sweet gerkins. Actually, I'm not so
into them now. It's deli dills from here on out..
I did play about two hours of Fantasy Life. I played another main story mission and tried to gather everything I could along the way to satisfy side quests and challenges. I can’t mine for metals or fish though because I haven’t added those life certificates yet. I kind of want to stick to alchemy. It seemed ok because I got some ore in a chest once, but some potions require metals, so I don’t know how I’m going to make those without adding the Miner certificate. It’s possible that the game intends for you to carry multiple life certificates and to switch them depending on the quest. We’ll see. I’m going to stick to alchemy as long as I can though.
At some point I hooked up the Xbox 360 and took a look at the sales. I bought LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga yet again for just under $10. For some reason, I keep trading this game. I’ve played it to completion and I thought I still had it, but no. It’s one of the two LEGO games with online co-op. The other one is LEGO Indiana Jones 2. I should never be without either of them.
While I was checking sales, my friend Mark was looking up new games to play. He downloaded the demo for a Big Game Hunter and I watched here and there. I thought it looked like Skyrim and seemed to play like a Cabela’s game, but it didn’t. He kept complaining about the controls. One neat thing it had though was being able to play as the hunting dog and chase scents. That would’ve been a neat feature if only the controls were solid.
He dumped that game pretty quick and looked for another demo. I started looking too, just for fun, and suggested Diablo III. He started downloading it and the more I thought about playing this co-op, the better it sounded. I looked up the price at Gamestop and saw it was under $20. My eyes lit up and soon I was heading to the store to pick up two copies at $16 each. Then we were playing Diablo III the rest of the day.

Diablo III pulled a backbreaker on my 3DS today, and pinned it to the matt.
Diablo III is frickin’ great! Mark’s playing as a Barbarian and I’m a Wizard, no surprise there. The Barbarian is super brutal and just destroys everything in his path. The Wizard has lots of different magic skills he can use. I used Magic Missile as a ranged attack and then used Diamond Skin when enemies got too close followed by Arcane Torrent. Arcane Torrent looks like an attack of a rocket launcher truck; lots of missiles shoot out and hit a location on the ground and anything near it. I felt like the roving artillery unit to Mark’s tank. We were cruising through the game on Easy difficulty. Only the bosses and a few large enemies gave us much trouble. However, I still died once and he several times. I’m looking forward to many weeks playing this game. My only problem is that my friend Mark will likely log twice the time I will and there might be a disparity in our skill level that makes it impossible to play co-op anymore. Well, what’ya gonna do. That’s life.
In conclusion, I didn’t stick to my Fantasy Life game, but at least I logged a couple of hours and got some street passes by going to Gamestop. I’m quite obsessed with those Mii Plaza games. It’s become a daily routine with me.
