What Games Are You Most Looking Forward to This Year?

Pretty self explanatory. Mine is obviously Bloodborne, because it's a new Souls-like game. Also:

The Witcher 3

Hyper Light Drifter

MGSV

Mount and Blade 2

What are yours?

i have to admit the new MGS looks pretty sick.

I'm looking forward to these games as well as Star Citizen, and hopefully the release of the Oculus Rift.

Indeed it does. And god I hope Star Citizen is good. If that game fails, I think Kickstarter will cease to exist for games haha.

MGS5, Bloodborne, Zelda Wii U, and Pokken

I read your article about Pokken. Have they announed any more pokemon for it? Bilby's been looking at it, but she hates fighting pokemon, so Idk if she'll be massively into it.

At this point I'm hoping for something seriously new with Zelda. A new art style, some new gameplay, a game changing narrative - something, anything! Seriously, I can't keep playing the same old game over and over again. They really need to refine their overworlds too, as they're usually pretty dull IMO.

Yeah, they announced Suicune (water typed legendary dog), Gardevoir (Psychic/Fairy type), and Pikachu. As for Zelda, I think this one will be plenty different from the other 3D ones. The focus on exploration and inspiration from the original game they keep touting seem to be enough for it to feel different.

But I don't think the 3D ones have been repeating themselves anyways. Twilight Princess copied OoT, I won't deny that. But Majora's Mask was basically Groundhog Day the game, Wind Waker was more about making discoveries in that vast ocean, and SS, though shit, had a Dark Souls like world design with smaller areas you focus on finding new paths to unlock shortcuts to when getting around with a lot of enemies to fight.

Do these all have dungeons in between this stuff? Yeah. But there was plenty different between these games to make each stand out in its own way. You just have to do stuff other than the dungeons.

The WItcher 3 is at the top of my list.

Then comes Hyper Light Drifter, Shovel Knight on the Vita, The Order and Bloodborne.

Vita seems like a great fit for Shovel Knight. It's already on 3DS isn't it? I think more indie games like that should be ported to handheld. I'd play Thomas Was Alone, Bastion, and plenty of others every day if they were on 3DS haha.

I already have Shovel Knight for the 3DS and loved it, but I prefer my Vita to the 3DS.  Also looking forward to Bastion on the Vita.

The Order 1886 is in there

I'm not too sure about that. I love the setting, but I'm hoping it's got some serious gameplay to back it up.

Also, I ain't seen you around these parts before. Are you new?

Yes, there's a new one down the pipe for Wii U. Not a whole lot known about it, but I believe they are making it in the classic style of the series. We'll see.

The Witcher 3 is on the top of my want list.  It will probably be the game that makes me get a PS4.

Yeah... I'll probably play it on PS4 too haha. My PC is definitely not running that beast unless I buy a new graphics card.

Hyper Light Drifter for sure. There was another Indie game that looks like a mixture of the first Diablo and Dark Souls.... but man, I can't remember the name of it. Undecided

Titan Souls?

It was this that I was thinking of. I'm so thankful for the Indie scene. All I really want nowadays are games that work and aren't full of a gagillion bugs upon release. I'll look into Titan Souls though. The gameplay looks promising.

Holy shit. That looks awesome!

I wrote a blog about this a few weeks ago.  Right now the most recent game I'm looking forward to is Kirby and the Rainbow Curse on Wii U.  Comes out Feb. 20 in the US.

Man, I almost forgot about Hyper Light Drifter until you mentioned here. That's one i'm looking forward to.

The rest of the list pretty much consists of Majora's Mask 3D, Zelda Wii U, Star Fox Wii U, The Witcher 3 and above all of them, No Man's Sky. I really hope they can pull off the last one.

I feel No Man's Sky is too hyped. No matter how great the game they release is, it will be a letdown. I'm just keen to see the results though.

So far it's: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M on 3DS, Hellraid, Halo 5, King's Quest (a new game in the series), and new Ratchet & Clank. There are lots of others I think are interesting, but I need to see/hear more about before committing to a day-one purchase.
