A New Game Approaches (BaDay 26)

I decided to step back from Diablo III and use it just as a backup in case the game I'm playing bores me or makes me rage quit. So that means I get to choose a new, or old, game to play. I also decided to use my Random Game Encounter Table, not just on holidays, but all the time - because it's cool. So I rolled an 86 on a d100 at Random.org. On my table that means an Action game. I went to my saved pages from Allgame.com and looked through the list sorted by rating (high to low) and year (old to new). I picked out one game I haven't played and one I have. See below for the result.

Super Mario World and, as a backup, Super Mario 64. Now, I know I am platform game challenged, but I want to give these games a real shot, or two, or three, to see if one of these holds my attention for more than half an hour. If they don't, well, I got Diablo III to fall back on.

I'm going to play these on Wii Virtual Console with my Classic Controller. I have Super Mario 64 on N64, but I figure I'll buy the download on Wii so I don't have to bring both my Wii and N64 over to my friend's place this weekend.

And that's about it for gaming news from me this antepenultimate day of BaD.

Those are two of the best Mario games ever made. If you would play Mario 2 and Yoshi's Island, you'd be all set!

I'll get to those too sometime. I've played a little bit of Super Mario 64 before. I like the way Mario moves in that game. I have to get farther in it though.

Have fun with the awesomess of Super Mario 64, one of my top 5 favorite games. World is also pretty great.

Cool. I have a review of Super Mario Bros. coming soon. Your blog just made me think about. Also, I recently downloaded SMB 1-3 on the Wii U eShop. Man...I forgot how much I love Super Mario Bros. 2 (not Lost Levels).

Dude, you are going to enjoy Super Mario 64, I think. It' looks gorgeous on the VC.

I have SMB 1 and 3 on Wii VC. I guess I didn't get 2 yet. I'll have to try that one sometime.

Mario 64 on the DS is a game I want to try but I'd like to finish the Mario Gameboy games I got through Club Nintendo first before tackling another Mario game.
