We're pretty much in the same boat. Even the broken controller thing (well actually, my GCN controller just won't move directly forward, making only certain games unplayable and I replaced it with one with an iffy R button ... and the Mad Catz one is a crapshoot).
I love that PC games usually support the 360 controller.

No judgement here. I never knew Avatar: The Last Airbender existed until I was in my 20s, and I binged all three seasons after watching that stupid movie.
Looks like Spawn Armageddon was cross-platform for GCN and PS2, probably XBOX as well. As for the Genesis, I played the SNES Spawn, but don't remember it being on Genesis.

I wonder if I would have felt they were badly done in 1997. I remember really liking 90s CG as a kid, but looking back at stuff like the original Power Rangers movie or Mortal Kombat now ... yeesh.
