GLaD 4: Wind Waker

I'm the opposite, I love oranges, but I need to be in the mood for apples. lol Actually, dieting has made me love all fruits, but I do love my oranges best of all.

I usually play my games solo, and most of my close friends are females about the same age as myself (a few of which are exes) that don't mind watching the kiddy movies (well, the modern comedy-for-all-ages ones anyway), and probably wouldn't care if they caught me playing Wind Waker, so I don't really have the embarassment problem, since I don't play games in front of people to start with, normally.

Oddly enough, Super Mario Sunshine got a LOT more flack for being too kiddy/"gay" (not my phrasing, other people's) from my memory, and I loved that game.

I do get what you're saying though, I've been watching a Sonic Adventure cutscene and just felt embarrassed, whether or not I was being watched, so I get where you're coming from. I don't think I'd feel embarrassed by something like Jet Set Radio, though.

Never played Borderlands or XIII (is that a Final Fantasy you're referring to, or is it just called "thirteen"?), but I think, as with Devil May Cry, the hate dwindled a bit when the game released, and everyone realized how not-bad it was.

I think it's less divisive now than it was announced, but I guess you're right, there are still detractors that were very relieved when Twilight Princess came out ... and then I guess pissed off again when Skyward Sword hit? I don't know, I never heard as much of the buzz for that one, other than the fact the Zelda book focuses on it heavily, I guess.

I feel like The Golden Tights should be an award given to top-notch superhero comic books, with Alan Moore presenting each and every last one with a disgusted look on his face.

I can't think of any good archer names, either. lol

Would you like to ride with Batman?

Arkham City is probably the game I most regret not buying a current gen system for. It looks amazing, and I love Batman.

As for Always Sunny, I've only really caught it when it comes on before or after Daily Show and Colbert, but you're right, the characters are such morons, but it's so hilarious because of it!

It helps that Danny DeVito and Charlie Day are in it, since I have fond thoughts of Matilda and Horrible Bosses, though I love Rob McElhenny and Kaitlin Olsen as well.

I only played a few minutes of Okami, but those few minutes were breath taking. As for Wind Waker, what a coincidence, that's just what happened to me with Majora's Mask! To this day, my save file is right before the final boss, but I never got all the masks, and therefore never beat the game once life crept up on me.

I enjoyed sailing in Wind Waker up until the last part; it was a bit much to say the least.

I've never gone sailing, but I did used to ride in, go tubing, and once or twice drove my uncle's motorboat in Wisconsin. That was an awesome part of my summers.

I keep forgetting how many amazing games there are for DS I have not tried yet. I need to pick up Okami Den.

METAL MONDAY!

Killswitch Engage - Had no idea that was the old line-up, I thought the original singer was the one used on "My Curse" and the "Holy Diver" cover. I've been hit and miss with KSE (screamed verses and sung chorus type music is hit and miss with me in general), but "In Due Time" sounds like a winner, must say I enjoyed it.

As I Lay Dying - Enjoyed this one as well, heavy, but good melody. And holy crap, this is the first one of these you posted where I've actually known some of the bands! lol

Thyrfing - I thought this was going to be power metal a la Dio or Nightwish or Amon Amarth ... then the vocals came. lol Not my type of vocals, but I do love the instrumental in it.

Final Breath - The speed and style reminded me a bit of better Devildriver songs, but with heavier vocals, and a death metal bent. Very nice. Cool Plus insane drumming, which reminded me a bit of Terrorizer's "Hordes of Zombies."

Nile - Actually saw these guys at Ozzfest 2007, caught the end of their set. Not my style, but they win my award for "band I saw where there were the most people bleeding profusely," particularly one guy I thought was wearing zombie makeup until I realized it was his blood pouring down his shirt!

Wolfchant - Fast-tempo Power metal to end it? Excellent choice, sir. Love it.

I love the grumpy cat picture too. Has he made an appearance in Metalocalypse at any point? Been a while since I've watched.

Very gald I had time to listen to them all today. Excellent selection!

I don't honestly mind either style for Zelda, I enjoyed Twilight Princess as well (though less so).

Why didn't you like Wind Waker, was it the boat segments (can't blame you) or something else altogether?
