Game Log May 17 - Arabian Zone

Posted on 05/19/2014 at 11:42 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Yea, Super Puzzle Fighter is the best.

A lot of the games on Taito L2 had really good elements like a great art style or interesting gameplay, but I only put eight of them on my favorites list in the menu system: Arabian Magic, Cleopatra's Fortune, Darius Gaiden, Dungeon Magic, Elevator Action II (or Returns), G-Darius, Lunar Rescue, and Puchi Carat.

It seems several of the games have different titles for the US like Elevator Action Returns is Elevator Action II and Puzzle Bobble 2 is Bust-A-Move. There are probably more too like the Cameltry/On the Ball you mentioned.

Comix Zone is kinda hard. Not being able to continue after being killed is really annoying.

That's what I was thinking when I was putting in the images to this blog. It's easy to rip through a lot of games on these collections of old arcade games. Most of them are pretty short. I'm saving just a few to write more about and replay. Ones that really interest me a lot.

I love the design of the Souls games. Every last pixel and sound bite of them.

I love Demon's Souls but I've gotten absolutely nowhere in it. I found it too hard, but I respect it's combat system. I know I can master it if I put some time into it, and I will, sometime. If an exclusive Demon's Souls game comes to PS4, I'm going to have a hard time resisting getting the system for it.

Damn! I didn't know there were so many of them. I'm going to play one of them sometime. I have Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana on PS2.

Retro Game of the Week: Castlevania Symphony of the Night

Tried this on the copy I have on the Xbox 360. I think I got it for free for some reason I forget. I didn't get into it right away, maybe because it doesn't tell you what to do and challenges you right away, but I'll have to give it another go. Those screen shots are amazing!

Oo it's on the Vita? What a good place for it. Those graphics would look great there.

My pet peeve right now is bad parking habits. Some people just don't give a damn how they park. So selfish.

I'm going to download Saints Row The Third as soon as Wolfenstein comes out and I tuck my PS2 away and boot up the 360 again on Tuesday.

They got a lot more dots on the screen for sure. This article I found comparing Atari 2600 with Intellivison is pretty cool and has some interesting comments.
