I like the Switch, but it's not my favorite Nintendo console.  Too many Wii U ports, and those JoyCons, while innovated if used correctly, suck overall (JoyCon drift anyone?).  

Aside from Animal Crossing, this year was a pretty disppointing one for Switch owners.  One of their only big holiday games was one they didn't even make, and it just used assets from Breath of the Wild to poop out another Hyrule Warriors game.  Otherwise it was mostly just more ports and re-releases.  It's a good thing the Switch is also a handheld game system, so I can take it to work on my lunch hour to regain some sanity!

Huh, I never got a press release about a delay.  So others besides me thought the beta game was a bit slow?  I thought it was just me.

I loved the 360, but I never owned an original Xbox or any of the ones after the 360.  There just wasn't enough games on the original Xbox that I wanted.  There was a Spy vs. Spy game I would've liked to try, as well as that 3-D Toe Jam & Earl game.  There was also OutRun 2000, but that eventually got ported to the PS2.

Wind Waker is one of my favorite 3-D Zeldas.  I don't even mind the slow parts.  I liked the art style even when everyone else didn't.

I played SteamWorld Dig on the Wii U.  It was fun, but I got to a point where I fell really far and didn't know that would happen and didn't bring any warping tools with me so I couldn't get back up to the top, so I stopped playing.

In February I beat Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity!  Aside from the games I review and my daily dose of Animal Crossing, I've been really sinking my teeth into Ys 9 on my days off.

I got my PS4 in 2016.  It had already been out for two years, but I got it at a Black Friday sale.

It's hard to think of Tak as a video game mascot because he was so closely tied with Nickelodeon.  The characters were designed by Nick execs as cross media characters, it just so happened they had games first and then a show later.  It's kind of like how Jimmy Neutron was a movie and then a show.  Tak probably failed because it wasn't making enough money for Nickelodeon.  But it must've been tough to compete with SpongeBob.  I reviewed one of the Tak games once, but I don't remember which one it was.  You climbed on giant living stone structures in it, so it kind of had a Shadow of the Colossus vibe.

My brothers showed me a Yakuza game once.  I'm not sure which one it was, but here's what happened when I played it.

"One day, a Yakuza Man went to an arcade.  He played a lot of Space Harrier and After Burner and maybe even OutRun.  After that, he met a really cute lady that worked at the arcade.  She flirted with him a little bit and helped him unlock Fantasy Zone."

And that's all I played.  Here's how I think the story ended:

"After that, the Yakuza Man decided to stop being a bad Yakuza guy and he married the cute Arcade Lady and they lived happily ever after.  The End."

One of the Taito collections has Space Invaders 95: Attack of the Lunar Loonies.  It's like the Parodius of Space Invaders.  I really like it.
