It just dawned on me that Joust is the original "flappy bird".

Bandit's look is priceless. "I really hated that" he seems to say.
Ha! DK Jr. Math. Didn't see that one. Cool. The cartoon I'll have to watch later 'cause it's late, and DK Game Boy did come out a few years after SMK, so you're right there, and I should've known that 'cause I just read something you wrote about that. Ah, facts. There's so many of them and so little time to find them all.
Yea, I don't think there's any continuity between the new and old DK's. It seems like with DK Country, the current characters were set and not much of a backstory has been given regarding how they all relate to each other. Somehow I think Nintendo did that on purpose.
"but this game it’s trying to be a little too much like Burnout." Every game should try hard to be like Burnout. Burnout Paradise should try harder to be like Burnout. Actually, Criterion should just release another Burnout. Why haven't they done so? I want to know.
And those Xbox 360 sales are great. I actually played hookie from work, briefly, to check on Friday's sales 'cause I forgot to before work. There was nothing much there of interest to me today, but I'm checking again first thing tomorrow. I got like 4 games for under $15 total earlier in the week.
That's what I was thinking since they used Cranky Kong but for some reason Nintendo has tried to distance themselves from Jr. and use Diddy and DIxie instead. Maybe because they don't want people to remember Mario as an antagonist like he was in DK jr. or maybe they don't want a father/son thing going on because then people ask, "well, who's the mother then?". It's weird, but I'm sure they had some board meeting and carefully thought it through.
That's cool. It is like ancient history.
This was the first time in a while that I wanted a console on day-one with the PS4.
Backloggery is cool. It makes your game collection become a game in itself as it tracks how far along you are in each title. I love the randomizer too. I've been thinking for a while now how to do that with my game collection on spread sheets. It would be cool to have something here that shows what you're playing at the moment on the profile page.
I've got to try it on 3DS. Seems like the perfect place to play it.
