I've haven't gotten to the tilt stuff yet. I was having trouble when you move Mario around defensively in the battle screen. I kept tipping the screen and losing focus. I guess I'll have to turn it off for the tilt stuff. I so love the 3D now. I've gotten quite good at keeping the screen at the right angle.
I'm there now. I've never used Twitch before. It's nice. I'll keep your Twitch page up in case you start playing again. I'll be here all night.
Umm, I guess so. The thing I like about it best is that you can do a quick turn to go the opposite direction. You don't have to take these long arcing turns like you do in most other aerial combat games. I know it's not realistic but that simulation stuff drives me crazy. I turn around for what seems like forever and the whole time the enemy is right on my tail and I can't shake them. In Crimson Skies, I can turn right around and blast the crap out of them. I don't know why no one else has used this in any other flight combat game, but I hear that the Snoopy Flying Ace game on XBLA is similar in style and not bad.
It's the hectic pace and confined quarters that lend themselves well to freak outs of every sort.
I remember when Minecraft came out on XBLA for $20. I think it was the first one at that price. From then on XBLA games were mostly $15 and not $10 like at the beginning.
I just put in a few more hours into MLDT. I got the hammers and learned the nose tickling technique and the mustache pulling technique that clearly took its inspiration from Angry Birds. I found that keeping the screen perfectly still while in 3D during a battle is a little tricky. Turn the screen even a little bit and everything goes fuzzy. I'm really loving the game so far.
I should be tackling more of Into the Nexus tommorow at my friend's place.
Wired's Game/Life Podcast this week talked about the PS4's ability to stream gameplay footage to places like Twitch. It would be awesome if Pixlbit had a live feed of Pixlbits here playing games on PS4 so some of us can at least watch.
I asked them for a sealed copy but they couldn't find one so I almost rejected it, but I had that coupon and trade-in game, and so I just grinned and beared it.
My room mate is a Wiccan in all but actually calling herself one. She suggested a spiritual cleansing that would make any Wiccan proud. Me, I just deal with the feelings. Nothing more complex than just reaffirming my own will to live and prosper.
