Gaming Can Be Bad For You!

I read a book on statistics recently and you have to do questionaires with small samples. The trick is picking the right group that'll tell you accurate information about the larger group. It's impossible to question everyone. Or at least, it costs too much to do.

But I agree that stats are to be taken with a grain of salt, but that 5 hrs of tv a day sounds like something people in the mainstream would do to me.

I'm pregnant.

Everything in moderations I guess. I just know that I wouldn't be all worried about it like some people I know who are super strict about their kids playing games. Let them play and play with them. That's what I say.

I'm beginning to favor easy settings in games. Or at least, I don't feel that I have to go for difficulty right off the bat.

Yea, "funny sometimes" that's about right.

I saw there was a video game made, Iron Sky: Invasion, but I think it only came out in Europe because I've never seen it here in NA.

The effects are really good, but the script is kinda weak. It could've been a lot funnier too. There's some pretty hilarious criticism of the U.S. in there. I mostly chuckled rather than laughed out loud though. I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars, meaning I liked it, but not a lot, and definitely didn't love it. Some of the look of the film reminded me of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, which I thought had a similar great-look-shallow-story appeal. Iron Sky got mostly bad reviews by critics but it did win an award for effects. That probably says it all right there.

The NPD reported an average of 13 hours a week of video gaming by Americans back in 2010 here: http://uk.gamespot.com//news/time-spent-gaming-on-the-rise-npd-6264092?

statisticbrain.com had a stat of 5 hours a day of TV watching for the average American here: http://www.statisticbrain.com/television-watching-statistics/ That's 35 hours a week! TV watchers got us gamers beat by a long way.

The most gaming I've done in a week was about 22 hours, most of that on the weekend.

People have put a lot of work into Second Life recreating whole cities, but the lag and pop-in is apparently pretty bad.

Retro Game of the Week: Shaq Fu

Oh snap! I thought you were just kidding about a platformer with MJ in it!

I looked it up and Shaq is only in the arcade version of NBA Jam as a member of the Orlando Magic. Apparently his likeness wasn't liscenced by the NBA at the time and he wanted too much money to be in the home versions of the game. It's a similar case with MJ although MJ wasn't in any version of NBA Jam, as you know.

Sonic baffles me. How do you control something that goes that fast?! I gotta try it again. Maybe I'll get it this time.

My first game was probably this Gran Trak 10 arcade cabinet when I was seven. A big old steering wheel and a top down view. I used to love the snake like track and how the little cars moved around it. My obsession with driving has remained to this day. That's why I am the KNIGHT DRIVER. Don't forget it.
