BaD #21: 3DS Games I played in 2018

Posted on 02/21/2019 at 08:51 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I missed out on Fantasy Life unfortunately.  Just slipped through the cracks.  Also skipped out on Luigi's Mansion.  I love the game, I just didn't feel the need to play it on the 3DS.

Nintendo BaD System - Faxanadu

Posted on 02/21/2019 at 08:47 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Faxanadu is an interesting game.  It was made by Falcom, who did the Ys series.  Another popular series they did was Xanadu.  Since Faxanadu was on the Famicom (NES in Japan), they put a Fa in front of Xanadu and that's how it got its name.  Although Faxanadu doesn't have much to do with the original Xanadu series.  Oddly enough, I never really got into Faxanadu, but another NES Falcom game I did get into was Legacy of the Wizard, which strangely enough, has something to do with Faxanadu.  You see, Xanadu had lots of spinoffs.  Faxanadu was one.  Dragon Slayer was another Xanadu spinoff, and Legacy of the Wizard is known as Dragon Slayer IV in Japan.  So both games are kind of related.  The cool thing about Legacy of the Wizard is Yuzo Koshiro did the soundtrack.   Class dismissed.

The Good and BaD of Wargroove

I had an opportunity to review Wargroove, but I don't like strategy RPGs so I passed up on it.

Truly BaD - G.I. Joe for Atari

Posted on 02/20/2019 at 07:54 AM | Filed Under Blogs

As a kid I never got into G.I. Joe.  Neither the toys nor the cartoon interested me.  I really only got into two main toy lines as a kid.  When I was younger, it was Star Wars.  And as I got older, I was into Transformers for a bit.

I only had one G.I. Joe action figure and I don't know who it was.  As a kid, my dad and I built a model tank one time and for some reason, I felt like I needed an army man to drive it, so I got a G.I. Joe action figure to cram in the top of the tank.

I've never heard of that point and click adventure.  How old is it and what can you play it on?

BaD 13: In the Canteen? Dairy Queen!

Posted on 02/19/2019 at 08:49 PM | Filed Under Blogs

My review of GRIS will go up at GamerDad.com this Thursday evening.

I remember Dairy Queen and Whataburger having tons of Texas specific ads.  Also truck commercials.  Seems like every month is Truck Month in Texas.

Hey the other day you posted a blog with some of your brief fitness updates.  i thought I'd do that here, too.  I hope I won't sound like I'm bragging too much or anything, but last month I joined a new gym and I did my monthly weigh in today and I've already gained 3 pounds of muscle!  Yay!

What year is it?

I reviewed Yoku's Island Express and it was very good.

I also reviewed Battle Chef Brigrade and while it had a lot of good ideas, I ended up not liking it as much.

I WANTED to review Donut County so bad but I could never get a review copy of it!
