BaD 2012 & 2013

Posted on 02/25/2018 at 12:41 AM | Filed Under Blogs

The problem I had with FEZ is that at one point, you had to scan QR codes in the game to get tips on how to crack the codes in the text to move on.  And at the time, I didn't have a cell phone that could read QR codes yet.

I reviewed Quacamelee on the 360.  It was pretty good if you like 2-D Metroid style games.

Time Warped 1980 - Black Knight

Isn't there a sequel table called Black Knight Returns?

I think it's interesting that we got pinball tables well into and throughout the 90's.  I think they kind of tapered off after the 2000's, though.

BaD #17- Hidden Gems Hodge Podge: The Best of the Rest

One neat fact about Zack & Wiki si that it came out pretty early in the Wii's life cycle, which is even more surprising that it turned out so good.

BaD #17: Street Fighter

Posted on 02/24/2018 at 12:46 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I remember seeing the very first Street Fighter in an arcade once.  It was a special cabinet with big buttons and the harder you punched them, the harder the attack would be.  It's true!  Look it up.

Time Warped 1980 - Zork

Posted on 02/24/2018 at 12:44 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I remember when my brother Jeff discovered the Zork secret in one of his Call of Duty games and he played that for a while.

I never could get into text adventures as a kid, which is strange since I do like point and click adventures.  But there was one text adventure that I played as a kid, but it was more like a proto-point and click adventure.  It was called Mickey's Space Adventure and you still typed in commands like in Zork, but the game had graphics with words next to the objects so you knew what to type in.  That was the very first game I ever beat, and even though it was a little kid's game, I WAS a little kid at the time.  I still remember the sense of accomplishment from beating that game, and it's one of the reasons why I like reviewing kids games now.  Sorry, I guess that didn't have much to do with Zork.

BaD #16: The Speed Rumbler

I remember playing The Speed Rumbler on the Capcom collections but all I really remember about it was it was very hard.  When you're playing games on your Capcom collections, see if you can find Pirate Ship Higemaru.  That one is awesome.

BaD # 16- Hidden Gems: Sin & Punishment

I'm not a big Treasure fan, but there is one Treasure game that I really like.  It's called Astro Boy: Omega Factor and it's for the GBA.  I recommend trying it when you get a chance.

BaD 2011: Drinking Age

Ghost Trick was made by the same folks who also worked on Phoenix Wright.  They even included Missile the dog in it!  I love the twist ending, too.

Okamiden was my Game of the Year in 2011.

BaD 2010: What are we calling this decade anyway?

Tails and also Big the Cat. :)

The game I made for WarioWare D.I.Y that won was called "Feed a kitty."  You can read more about it here:

BaD #15: Side Arms: Hyper Dyne

This game, like Section Z, just wasn't very memorable to me.
