Silicon Knights Cuts Staff by 75%

Posted on 11/01/2011 at 01:33 PM | Filed Under News

As sorry as I am for all of the employees that lost their jobs, this doesn't come as a big surprise to me. After the huge failure that was Too Human and the badly received X-Men: Destiny it makes sense that the studio would "right size" itself.

It will be interesting to see where Silicon Knights go from here.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Review

I had a feeling that the first game would be a bit of a letdown after the second - that's why I'm glad I played them in order. It's good to see how the series has progressed in that way. And like Anonymous above me, I felt that crushing was much more difficult in the first one than it was in the second.

Games I Play on Halloween: A Spooktacular Round Table

That's a good one. Lots of games that I wanted to give love to, including Undead Nightmare and Dead Rising, but there is always next year!

Modern Warfare 3: Should You Be Excited?

You know, initially I wasn't really that excited for this game, but the closer it gets to dropping the more interested I've become. I'll likely pick this up a month or so after launch when things cool down a bit.

We actually did :) It's easy to miss, but you'll see the table of contents for the piece on the right hand side that has each of our names.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Release Date Announced

Posted on 10/29/2011 at 10:28 PM | Filed Under News

Next year is turning into quite the little Resident Evil love fest with Revelations coming out in January and then Operation Raccoon City coming out in March.

I'm glad that we have a few more months to wait for this. Publishers really need to get better about not bunching up major releases so close together. October and November of this year is ridiculous and a lot of good games are going to get neglected because gamers don't have enough time or money to play them all.

I seriously love that picture. It just makes me smile.

Michael! Awesome to see you here, man! I agree on both accounts. I'm surprised that there hasn't been a bigger marketing push for the LOTR game, especially since it comes out the same day as Uncharted 3 and I'm also holding off for the GOTY edition of Skyrim - it's bound come out and will be a much better deal.

Don't worry, from what I've seen the game earns its M rating and I'll be sure to fill you in on all of the gory details when I post my review next week.

Nickel and Dimed at the Online Store

It very well could be. The blessing in disguise could be lower used game prices for gamers that couldn't care less about online content. My worry is when games like the new Batman have single player unlockable content that actually ends up being a good chunk of the game.
