Super Shopping Sunday

Posted on 04/13/2014 at 07:37 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Duh-duh-duh-duuuuhhh!  It's Super Step to the rescue!  Yay!

I love vegetables!  I'd probably be a vegetarian if meat didn't taste so good.  Even as a kid I loved vegetables and I would get weird looks from grown-ups when I would choose vegetables over candy.

I don't like skim milk, though.  I just get the 2 percent stuff.

The GameStop near my house has good employees, but there are some that I've been to that aren't as good.  So I just stick with the ones close to my house.  That PS4 news sounds interesting.  I'll have to look if I'm ever in the market for one, but not right now!

See you later, Super Step!  You're faster than a tall building and able to leap over bullets in a single bound!  Oh, wait...

If I could freeze time, I don't think I'd eat power pellets full of spinach.  I'd be tempted to take extra naps and play more video games.  Because while I do try hard to work out and lift weights and stay healthy, I can also be really lazy, too!  Healing powers...yeah I could see that.  If I were in an RPG, I'd probably end up being the White Mage.

Intellivision Dies on PS2

Hey hey HEY!  What are you doing talking about Intellivision?  You're supposed to be talking about Taito games! :)

My cousin had an Intellivision and we'd play it together when I visited her in Alabama when we were kids.  For some reason, our favorite game to play was Frog Bog.  That's about the only game I remember on this new collection.

There were a couple of Intellivision games that looked way ahead of their time, though.  One was a helicopter game and one was a baseball game. Both are on that collection, too, I believe.

Yeah Pokemon would make great team mascots.

Hi Super Step.  What kind of super powers do you got?  What's your epic origin story?

Too bad you didn't call yourself Super Joe.  Then you could be like that army guy in Capcom's Commando.

Maybe I should be Super Cary.  But I don't know what my super powers would be.  What do you think?

I have strong religious beliefs, too, but many games that have contradictions to what i believe in don't bother me much because they're just make believe stories.  At least that's how I look at it.  Although I did stop playing Bayonetta because I didn't like to beat up angels.

I have weird dreams, too.  One time I dreamed I was a White Mage in a Final Fantasy game and the storyline for my dream was so epic it felt better than many existing FF storylines.  I think I even wrote a blog about it at 1up a few years ago.

And you should go and read my blog.  Because...uh...I said to. :) --Cary

Even though I'm not a fan of FFX, I am curious as to what's in the Limited Edition.

Game Design Books x3

Bayonetta sure does like lollipops.  If I had a lollipop I'd give it to her because I don't like them.

I wonder what other books were on sale at Amazon?

Quick Hits: TV Shows, I Saw Man of Steel, and Pickups!

They should make a movie called "The Adventures of Lex Luthor and His Funny Sidekick Lady."  If I were a bad guy, that's the kind of sidekick I'd like to have.

Retro Game of the Week: Final Fantasy III

FF3 (or FF6, whatever you want to call it), is one of my top five favorite games of all time.  Right on up there with Pac-Man, Super Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and the Namco Museums.  So you can tell how much I like it.

FF6 has what I like to call the perfect soundtrack.  It's so good.  And my favorite FF hero and villian are from this game (Terra and Kefka).  I kind of consider the Esper Magicite the FF crystals of this game.

One thing to note: Gogo CAN use other abilities besides Mimic. You can go to the options screen and customize his commands.  I forget how you do this, but I know I did it back in the day.  So he CAN use items, and all the other characters abilities, too.  I had him use Blitz so I could have two people in my party who could use Bum Rush.

There are so many cool secrets in the game, too!  Equip a cursed shield or other armor and fight in 255 battles and it'll turn into a super powerful piece of armor.  Turn yourself into an imp and you can equip super powerful imp armor!  Mix and match relics to make you do really cool things, such as attack 8 times in one turn (use the Genji Glove and uh...something else, I forget right now).  Wisely equip certain Magicite Espers when you level up because some provide status boosts that you don't normally get when levelling up.  And much more!

I could go on and on about this game, but I'll stop there.  Like I said at first, it's one of the best games ever made.  At least for me.  --Cary
