Hello Strangers!

Good to hear from you again!

I would say you should read my blogs for game recommendations, but since you mostly play PC games now and I mostly play consoles, I wouldn't be of much help to you.

I went to Las Vegas once.  That place is crazy.  But at least I got to experience it.

How much is a subscription to Apple Arcade?  I've been debating trying it recently so i can play that Pac-Man Party Royale game on it.  Plus there's a couple of other ones I'm curious about.  But if I told you what they were, you'd laugh at me.  Well I'll tell you anyway.  There's a Hello Kitty Island game and a new Tamagotchi game I want to play on there.

Yeah there's no reason why the Pixel Remasters were as expensive as they were.  But that's why I asked for the physical copy for Christmas. So I wouldn't have to buy it myself. :)

Have you heard anything about any Ys X announcements yet?  I'm on the NIS press list, and I haven't read anything about it yet.

I like how you put it.  Tears of the Kingdom is fun, but it's too much game.  I hope the next Zelda is more traditional with actual dungeons and no breakable weapons and doesn't take a third of a year to beat.

Right now I'm mostly playing the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster physical edition I got for Christmas.

Well the controls for Luigi's Mansion 3 took a little getting used to, but they were better than Dark Moon, so there's hope.  I just wish they would've included the first game, too.  And maybe the arcade game.

I got to review a couple of those "Recharged" Atari remakes, but after a while they stopped responding to my emails requesting review copies of their games.  Oh well.

My dad loves jigsaw puzzles.  He used to do them all the time.  He can't do them right now, though, because his grandkids want to 'help' him by hiding pieces or seeing how far they can throw them.

FF6 is my fav, too (one of my top five favorite games of all time really), but I started with FF4 because it's a quick play and I couldn't decide between playing it and FF6 first, so it was just a random coin toss kind of thing.

2023 Year in Review (and my GOTY)

I reviewed Kirby Tilt N Tumble for The Dallas Morning News back in the day.  I got a cool piece of swag for reviewing it, too: a Kirby kickball!  I still have it on my dresser.  Too bad we never got the GameCube sequel.  They should make a new one for Switch!

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom was pretty neat.  Too bad they took out the mini-games for the US release.

My dad loved Pilotwings on the SNES. I never had it on the N64, but I did have the 3DS one.

I wanted to play more of Crusade on Centy on my Genesis Mini 2, but I got distracted.  I'd love to play Terranigma!

I got a physical copy of Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters for Christmas, so I'm playing through FF4 on it right now.  That was really the first game that really got me into RPGs.

I think I have Sushi Striker on the Switch.  I did not like the controls in Kid Icarus Uprising.  I can't wait for the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake on Switch!  I just posted a blog about the games I'm looking forward to in the coming year!

I had an opportunity to review Air Twister, but I had too much on my plate at the time.

I played Ghost Trick on the DS so I didn't get the Switch one.  I love the ending.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is better than SMB3, but it doesn't beat out Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island to me.  But then, I'm the weirdo who also like US Mario 2 more than Mario 3.

You already read my GOTY blog, but if I had to put them in top ten order, it would probaby look like this:

10.Puzzle Bobble Everybubble

9. F-Zero 99

8. WarioWare: Move It!

7. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe

6. Metroid Prime Remastered

5. Super Mario Bros. Wonder

4. Sea of Stars

3. Detective Pikachu Returns

2. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

1. Super Mario RPG

I think the Astrosmash remake did a good job of adding new elements to keep it interesting, but still retaining the basic gameplay of the original. It's just simple fun.
