Nintendo Announces Q2 Releases

Ocarina of Time 3D gets an official release date and Nintendo announces Wii Play: Motion and Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust for Wii.

Today, Nintendo has revealed the quarter two release schedule for their three current platforms, the Wii, 3DS, and DS. The schedule holds three first party titles of note, for the Wii and 3DS. Ocarina of Time 3D will be launching on June 19, shortly after this year's E3. Wii Play: Motion was also announced which will release a week earlier on June 13, complete with a Wii Remote Plus and twelve new mini-games. A new entry in the Mystery Case Files series, Dust to Dust will be coming to Wii courtesy of Nintendo as well.

Xenoblade Chronicles Hitting Europe

The previously Japan-only Monolith Soft title is being localized by Nintendo of Europe.

This morning, Nintendo of Europe announced plans to localize the Monolith Soft title, Xenoblade, known now in Europe as Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. The title was originally revealed two years back at E3 2009 as Monado: Beginning of the World. Since the original announcement, Nintendo of America hasn't brought up the title again, though it's still on their website under its original name for an unspecified 2011 release.

Mario to Hold Live Press Conference

Nintendo will be promoting their upcoming title, Mario Sports Mix, with a mock press conference.

Next week, fans of Mario sports titles can tune into a special live press conference starring the Italian plumber himself. Mario will be discussing his career in sports in promotion of his upcoming Wii title, Mario Sports Mix.

Nintendo Shareholders Meeting Reveals 2011 Wii Plans

Yesterday, Nintendo mentioned an entirely new title, revived one some believed was dead, and reaffirmed development of a third.

As you can see in the videos preceding this news story, Nintendo showed off a handful of new Wii titles at an investor's meeting yesterday. Rhythm Heaven and the long-developed Kirby Wii game were two titles previously announced by Nintendo showcased at the event. When speaking of the Kirby title, Iwata apologized for its delay. Gameplay seems to be altered some from prior videos released, showing a lone Kirby without the created buddies or totem poles showcased in previously released screenshots and videos. Rhythm Heaven's video shows the game maintains it's quirky themes and simple-styled gameplay, but at this time, not much more is known about either game.

Pokemon Wii and 3DS Games are Underway, New Pokemon DS Title Announced

The DS game does not have anything to do with the color gray.

Nintendo held an investor's meeting yesterday, and during the meeting, Iwata revealed Pokemon Typing DS, DS title that comes complete with a full bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth enabled DS card. The game will be released in April in Japan, though no mention was made as to whether it would make it stateside, to North America.

Viacom Sold Harmonix for Fifty Dollars

Reports have emerged that the company was sold on the cheap, though debt was also transferred in Columbus Nova's acquisition.

In the month following Rock Band developer Harmonix's sale from Viacom to Columbus Nova, more details of the purchase have been released to the public. Harmonix was sold for $49.99, but along with the transfer of ownership of the developer came transfer of ownership of debt and costly assets. These costs include music licenses and the warehouse space unsold games and instruments take.

Mario Sports Mix Heading to North America February 7th

Expect to see the latest addition to the Mario sporting line-up sooner than originally planned.

Following rumors of an early February launch, Nintendo confirmed Mario Sports Mix will be available on February 7th in North America. The new release date comes as a slight surprise, as when the game was unveiled at E3 Nintendo suggested it was a title that would reach the US in the Spring of 2011 rather than in Winter.
