Nintendo Roundtable #2 Live Blog

JD and Matt R were able to check out last night's roundtable, Jason R will be attending tonight's. Click through for his live updates from the meeting.

Last night we learned that Pikmin 3 has moved to Wii U, some details on Skyward Sword, and that Retro has a hand in Mario Kart 3DS. What does tonight hold? Only time will tell. Ubisoft is rumored to be in attendance, and will supposedly be spilling the beans on Assassin's Creed Wii U. Follow Jason's tweets as the news breaks and feel free to join the embedded chat!

Nintendo Announces a Variety of New DS and Wii Titles

Professor Layton and the Last Specter, Kirby Mass Attack, Mario Party 9, Kirby Wii, Fortune Street, and Rhythm Heaven, just to name a few.

With Nintendo's press conference now over, Nintendo's press site has revealed a number of games that didn't receive time during the presentation. The DS will see release of four new games published by first party Nintendo, and the Wii will see seven titles, four of which are new.

Project Cafe Coming Early 2012?

According to Majesco, their title Zumba Fitness 2 will arrive on Wii this holiday season and "another-to-be announced platform in early 2012."

A Majesco press release may have spilled the beans on the upcoming release date of Nintendo's to-be-announced system known now as Project Cafe. Zumba Fitness 2 is due for release on Wii this holiday, but it will also be coming to "another-to-be announced platform" in early 2012.

Nintendo Announces New Executive VP of Sales & Marketing

Taking the post once held by Reggie File-Aime and Cammie Dunaway, Scott Moffitt is being brought on "to drive continued growth for Nintendo hardware and software brands."

Nintendo of America announced today that Scott Moffitt will assume the role of Executive VP of Sales & Marketing, effective immediately. In this role, he will be reporting directly to Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, who also once held the same position.

Has EA Been Developing For Project Cafe Since August 2010?

A listing on a LinkedIn profile points to the possibility.

According to a listing on LinkedIn, an engineer at EA North Carolina was working on "audio support for an unannounced title on an unannounced Nintendo platform" from August to October of 2010.

Investor Release Confirms Wii Successor

Images added to Nintendo's developer site also confirm the Project Cafe codename.

Today in Japan, via an investor memo attached to the fiscal earnings report, Nintendo confirmed a successor to the Wii. According to the memo, the system will be releasing in 2012, and will be shown in playable form at this year's E3. Though not announced in any official capacity, the codename, Project Cafe, has been given some credibility as well.

According to "reliable sources" a new Nintendo console is on the way.

Big news came today for the gaming community as reports came in that Nintendo will be announcing a brand new console at E3, or maybe even sooner.
