Hey everyone! I haven’t been around here much, although I have been keeping up with most of your blogs. I really haven’t been helping out with the site or commenting too often, which is unfortunate. I miss being involved with PixlBit!
I have been away for several reasons, the biggest of which is forcing myself to spend most of my free time learning Unity and trying to develop games on my own. I have worked on several projects, and once I hit a big milestone in one of them, I decided I was probably half way through the project. It wasn’t too daunting, but I decided I wanted to complete a game start to finish in less time.
This led me to resurrect the simple game I made for the FlappyJam game jam in 2014. Certainly I could craft a whole bunch of levels instead of just having things fly at you with varying speeds! No big deal! Well, it took a lot longer than I anticipated, but I am releasing Frothy Bird tomorrow (September 29th) at 9:00 a.m. Central.
If you have access to a PC with Windows 8.1 or later, or in the less likely event you have a Windows Phone, please go download my free game and give it a try. To give you an idea of what the game is like, I threw together this trailer.
If you do get to play the game, let me know your honest thoughts on it. I am in this to learn as I go, so if you lie to me, it will do me no good!
I am also going to try to relax a bit more for a while, catch up on some games, and finally finish the blog I told Mikey I would write about Thief (you should grab it from the bargain bin and play it). Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you guys around!
