Guilty Pleasures: Female characters

On 03/30/2013 at 07:27 PM by BrokenH

We often list reputable gaming heroines as our “all time favorites”. However, doing that is the easy way out and where’s the fun in it? I decided to compose a list of “guilty pleasure females” who I have the hawts for even if liking them means my reputation may crash straight through the floor into Satan’s pent-house!

1# Sakura

Mention you like Sakura and it’s grounds for being called a pedophile. (Though by definition pedophilia is solely focused on being attracted to prepubescent children) Her age hovers between 14 and 16 on account capcom cannot handle the thought of her being in her 20’s or 30’s by now! (C’mon capcom, an adult Sakura would be sexy as hell and you know it!)

The thing is I had an infatuation for Sakura when I myself was a teenager. Yeah, the SF Alpha series has been around a LONG TIME. Feel free to look that up before putting up a snaky picture of that “How to catch a predator” guy! (And hey, what about those desperate house wives who fawn over Edward Cullen, Justin Bieber, & Jacob The Werewolf? Noone goes after them it seems!)

2# Myuria

Much akin to Rose from Legend Of Dragoon, Myuria is the sexy and mature “older woman”. She also has an aura of appealing mystery, making her that much more of an insatiable cock-tease!

Myuria is deeper than her boobalicious outer exterior may lead you to believe though. As someone who lost her husband and survived an alien invasion, she’s quite the survivor.

3# Morrigan Aensland

For me Morrigan is sort of the “Paris Hilton” of The Dark-Stalkers. By that I mean she’s a wealthy heiress from the demon world but beyond that she’s not nearly as interesting as the other characters. However, she was the succubus that more or less introduced my eyes to the very first hentai fan art I had ever seen so she gets the dastardly award of villainy for stealing the innocence from a naïve unknowing country boy who came to “The Big City” to pursue his dreams as an illustrator! Morrigan, you really made me into a man in the most embarrassing ways possible! Er, thanks for that I guess?

4# Lilith Aensland

I know, another pedo-alert here! Granted Lilith’s age is never given but because she’s flat chested every moral rights activist is going to assume she’s underage!

I was introduced to Lilith’s beauty when I was 17. Dad had pulled into a convenience store for some beer when a strategy guide for “Dark-Stalkers 3: Vampire Savior” caught my eye. Though I did not own the game or a play-station, the artwork enamored me so much I asked dad to buy it for me anyway. Luckily, it was on sale so my father put down the cash.

Though Lilith had no boobs she had an ass that wouldn’t quit! There was also a playful yet sexual innocence about her that made me as hard as mahogany.

Needless to say, I’ve always preferred Lilith over Morrigan for some weird reason. (Can’t wait till this gets re-tweeted a hundred times. I expect more pictures of Chris Hansen arriving in my comments section at any moment now!)

5# Judith

It’s obvious Judith was designed to be the “fan service character” for Tales Of Vesperia. Luckily for us, The Tales games have always been good at crafting lovable protagonists with more depth than first impressions initially lead us to believe. Judith is no exception! I really think her and Yuri Lowell would be a spectacular couple but you’re free to disagree.

6# Mai Shiranui

I liked Mai Shiranui in the Fatal Fury animated movies. She actually seemed very nice and compassionate. Sadly, Mai has been given a “tsundere personality” lately which really annoys me to no end. I don’t mind a little sassiness but Mai  is just plain obnoxious and rude these days.

All that being said, no one is going to argue against the fact she has a body that will not quit!

7# Dark queen

Remember Battle-toads? Yeah, it was a hard game. Do you know who can make YOU hard? (Er, if you are a heterosexual guy at least!) The Dark Queen! Seriously, she was an evil Dominatrix version of Jessica Rabbit and there’s nothing about that which is unpleasant. Va-boom! She also commanded a whole intergalactic army of mutant rat people if you’re into the whole “female empowerment” angle!

8# Kasuga

Kasuga is a blonde female ninja who wears Cat-woman’s body suit. She also seems to “orgasm” when her lord Kenshin mumbles even the most boring utterance into her ear. Kasuga definitely plays out the theme of a “sexy nymphomaniac submissive” with gusto! Is there any wonder why she’s a favorite character in Sengoku Basara?

9# Ayane

As far as the usual “negative tropes of women in videogames” go, Ayane gets more flak than she rightfully deserves. Though gushy around Ryu Hayabusa as if she has a school girl crush, Ayane is no-nonsense, capable, resourceful, clever, and fiercely independent when on an important mission. I certainly wouldn’t want to be on her ninja assassination hit-list!

10# Zhen Ji

When it comes to Dynasty Warriors, Zhen Ji didn’t immediately jump out at me. However, there’s something about her that is powerful, a bit tragic, and very beautiful simultaneously. Though seemingly fragile on the outside she’s strong willed and determined on the inside. She totally demands respect on the battlefield without even asking for it. If you can get over her revealing clothing, there’s definitely more to Zhen Ji than meets the eye.

11# Mamiya

Stop focusing on Mamiya’s “damageable clothing” my feminist friends. Just here me out, aye? Mamiya is a leader and a protector who has taught her people agriculture so they can survive in a harsh post apocalyptic wasteland. Additionally, she whoops ass with bladed yo-yos and a cross bow!

Mamiya is a female character who benefited from a game adaptation because she’s not quite as awesome in the actual “Fist Of The NorthStar” anime.

12# Blaze Fielding

Before Morrigan got around to twisting my screw into depraved perversity, Blaze put that screw there in the first place! If Blaze Fielding doesn’t quicken your pulse just by you looking at her, you’re probably dead! (Or at the very least neutered) She has remained my favorite character in Streets Of Rage to this present day.

03/30/2013 at 08:11 PM

The acurate term you're looking for is Ephebophile...Embarassed

In no order

Samus - (before she talked Wink)

Bayonetta -

Baiken - From Guilty Gear. one armed, one eyed Samurai, because the differently abled need love to Laughing

I-No - another GG girl, I seem to have a thing for Witches but she has a guitar and takes her top off! Surprised

Syrenne - from the Last Story a woman that can hold her booze is alright with meCool

Beauty and the Beast Unit - because i'm greedy

Sexy Silvia - chalk that up to my love of Superheroes and Sentai

03/30/2013 at 08:22 PM

I forgot I-no? Curses! I also had a thing for Dizzy. From Blazblue it's tied between Litchi and Makoto.

I would have put down Bayonetta but she's on a gazillion lists already so I wanted to go the road a little less travelled! (Despite Mai being on here, heh!)

I have a thing for Samus too but she's the "safe choice" on account almost everyone respects her. For this I was trying to list off characters who are controversial to like for whatever reason.

I was just bored and thought it would be a nice change from the usual "favorite females in gaming" blogs dotting the landscape. lol.

PS: Glad you are educated. I don't see many people online who differentiate pedophilia from ephebophilia.

03/30/2013 at 09:22 PM

I did that research when i was a teen (can't be too careful), plus i think it was prompted by a Law and Order or CSITongue Out

Samus is/was conrtroversial in her own right, technically she was a trannyWink

03/30/2013 at 09:35 PM

I actually originally thought she was a robot. Her power armor gave that impression and she had what looked like a "gun arm" similar to Mega-Man. First time I saw Samus at the end of Metroid I was like "Woah, mind blown!". In a good way of course. lol.

03/30/2013 at 08:46 PM

My favorites....

Tifa Lockheart - as far as I'm concerned, Tifa, not Lara Croft, is the pin-up queen of the 5th gen.

Kitana (Mortal Kombat)

Judith (Tales of Vesperia)

Ashe (Final Fantasy XII)

Cherry (Valkyria Chronicles)

Sakura Shinguji (Sakura Wars)

03/30/2013 at 09:09 PM

The only thing I regret about making a list like this is other people come up with good characters I forget to add at the time. lol.

Ashe is my favorite "FF princess" and Tifa is always a good choice no matter how you slice it!

Cary Woodham

03/30/2013 at 09:48 PM

Yeah, female video game characters can be really cool.

The ones I like on your list are Judith, Ayane, and Blaze.

I'll let you guess some of my other favorites.

03/30/2013 at 09:51 PM

I know you also like Leona from KOF, Cary. Also Juni and Juli from the street fighter Alpha series!

03/30/2013 at 11:28 PM

I can't help myself, I got to contribute to

Darkstakers it was Felicia all the way. I like cats what can I say.

Grandia III  Miranda. She is the original video game milf.

Rogue Galaxy  Kisala  with honorable mention going to lilika

DQVIII  Jessica  Smart as a whip, rocks a whip, and I love her accent.

Soul Caliber  The entire female cast (Getting greedy like V4Viewtiful)

Mass Effect  Liara  She has been my main squeeze through all three games. I dig the smart ones. Honorable mention toTali, once again I'm a sucker for accents.

Can't go wrong with Sakura, and I with you Broken, when I was 16 so was she, yet some how she's still 16 and I 'm 34. WTF! lol

Sure there are more, be back if I think of them.

03/31/2013 at 12:40 AM

Sakura just don't age,yo! Street Fighter's canon must exist in a time absent vacuum! Glad you brought up Jessica and Kisala as well. They're both dear to my heart and both come from the very best in Jrpgs! (Rogue Galaxy & DragonQuest 8 are the bomb!)

Concerning Mass-effect 2, I ended up liking Miranda Lawson a lot which is odd because her first impression and ties with Cerebus didn't leave me with a great first impression. I know she has the reputation as "the bitch" of the series but I likes what I likes!

03/31/2013 at 02:15 AM

Yeah, Mass 2  was kind of screwy with that. Liara seemed like she was more interested in her work than Sheperd. Miranda was a cerberes lovin lacky and pissy as hell. The mission to help her sis was her only saving grace. Jack was a bald, tattood, homicidal maniac. Then when I'm pretty much at the end of the game it opens up the chance to hook up with Tali who was another fave.I'll get her in another play through now that I know I can. I let Miranda die, sorry. Jack is actually not so...nasty in Mass 3.

Oh, just thought of another Quistis FFVIII. Also a fan of Mai too.

03/31/2013 at 10:37 AM

Yeah, I probably would have went for Laira again but she seemed rather aloof in ME2. Tali of course is the best choice. Thing is I had sort of screwed up my chances with her and I didn't initially know she was a romantic option.

By the way, I don't exactly hold it against you that you let Miranda die. I can understand why a lot of people don't like her and the fact she starts off as an "alien racist" when all Shepherd's closest buds are aliens certainly doesn't help matters.

I kinda hated being resurrected & drafted by cerebus on account I felt as if I was indirectly betraying my closest crew-mates. I pretty much told the elusive man to "fuck off" at the first opportunity. Being that's the case, it's odd I almost maxed out my trust level with Miranda. It's not as if I always agreed with her or anything. We fought A LOT!

03/31/2013 at 11:28 AM

The racist speciest thing made me really not like Ashley in the first game. Miranda took that and added an elitist attitude to it. Despite how messed up Jack was, I still felt sorry for her. So there was no doubt I had her back when shit hit the fan between her & Miranda. Yeah I didn't make things easy for old robot eyes either.

03/31/2013 at 01:14 PM

I stood up for Jack too. lol. I almost think Miranda was designed where you have to argue with her to get in her pants!

03/30/2013 at 11:54 PM

A trio of ladies come to mind for me.....Danger Girl. They are all hot and sexy, but tough as hell. Tifa Lockheart and Ivy from Soul Calibur are big as well. Ivy has under-cleavage! But I don't think any of them hold a candle to the Dark Queen. Great choices all around on this.

03/31/2013 at 12:36 AM

Had this been about comic book babes Sydney, Natalia, and Abbey would have been on top of the list,Celt! I also had a thing for Sara Pezzini (WitchBlade), Red Monica (Battle Chasers), Dawn, and Lady Death!

03/31/2013 at 12:19 AM

Not a lot of opportunities to mention this so I'll give it a go. I've always had a thing for Yuna, at least the version of her from X-2. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the skimpy clothing. Catherine from uh... the game Catherine is another good one. As is Kaine from Nier. I'd also mention 15 year-old Talim from Soul Calibur 2 as a past crush, but I was like 14 at the time so that is completely fair game!

03/31/2013 at 12:28 AM

I'd say it's "safe" to have a thing for a teen character when said character was created when we were in the same age bracket as them. That's why I don't feel guilty Sakura & Lilith are on this list. I first discovered them when I was a teenager myself.

Yuna,Kaine, and Catherine are good choices too!

Of those, I only recognize Dark Queen. I thought I recognized Mai Shinaru, but was thinking of another character.

For guilty pleasure, I guess I've always found Chun Li hot? And Ivy would be, but she has kinda boyish hair that distracts me and also looks like a total bitch. I dunno, I don't really think about it when playing a game, usually if I notice it, it's cause the boobs are ridiculously disproprtionate and I laugh.Chun Li actually looks like she could exist though, and I like legs and thighs, especially on chickens.

For non-guilty pleasures though, Shiek is an awesome character.

03/31/2013 at 12:32 AM

Chun Li's thighs realistic? Just kidding Joe and I know you're kidding too. lol. I will say Chun Li is attractive. I'm down with that whole "Interpol agent/tomboy" combination she's working with.

I don't know what you mean by "She looks like a bitch" though. Do you mean a "sexy bitch" or a "mean bitch"? Sorry, but "bitch" is rarely used as a compliment so I'm trying to decipher your use of the term.

Super Step Contributing Writer

03/31/2013 at 12:48 AM

She looks like she'd be mean. Although, I guess she could be considered a sexy mean person? I don't know. lol

And I;m speaking more of Li's SFII model, which really isn't that ridiculous.

It's actually a pretty modest design, I think.

03/31/2013 at 04:20 AM

That was before Capcom steroidized its character designs to the point of ridiculousness.

03/31/2013 at 10:56 AM

So true. Ha! Ha! Ha! In 3rd Strike it was so weird because Chun's arms looked so thin and frail yet her legs were decked out with muscles on top of muscles. I really do prefer her in the earlier games. Don't get me wrong, I love me some 3rd Strike though!

Super Step Contributing Writer

03/31/2013 at 12:49 AM

^Minus the fact those heels I never noticed before on her boots do no favors. lol

03/31/2013 at 12:54 AM

Yeah, Chun Li only got "weird" anatomically during 3rd Strike. For some reason that version of her sticks out in my mind the most. Go figure! Her design in the Alpha games wasn't too absurd either.

Super Step Contributing Writer

03/31/2013 at 12:59 AM

I remember reading an article somewhere about how her thighs got larger as time went on. I definitely see it. lol I guess I'll add DOA females as a guilty pleasure in middle school, though I never played those games, only saw the ads in EGM. But those were good ads. And no, the pages of my EGMs are not stuck together, I wasn't that pervy about it, I just like women in swimsuits. lol

03/31/2013 at 01:04 AM

I never got "sticky stuff" in my gaming magazines either. lol. I kind of saw them as "holy relics" so I took good care of them. Unfortunately I moved around so much between home,Job Corps, and college in Minneapolis during my late teens & early twenties I lost a lot of good stuff along the way. It feels comforting to be more "settled" now.

Super Step Contributing Writer

03/31/2013 at 01:07 AM

I wish I'd seen mine as holy relics; I think that Gamecube cover EGM of mine (#145, August 2001) would have appreciated some better care taken. lol

That's nice that you're settled down now though.

03/31/2013 at 01:21 AM

Well, I "tried" to treat them like holy relics. I'm not saying accidents didn't happen. I lost one of my Wizard magazines because I took it camping and it got partially burned in the camp fire. Granted, Wizard was more about comic books than games but you see my point!

03/31/2013 at 11:04 AM

Yay! Mamiya! She was awesome in Ken's Rage. I'm watching FOTNS right now again. Sakura's one of my favorite Alpha characters, but not nearly for the same reasons lol. I would add Tyris Flare from Golden Axe to this list. Also KOS MOS! She's such a badass! Best female robot character ever! Cool

03/31/2013 at 12:53 PM

Sakura was a well balanced character in the Alpha Games. She had the largest fireball (though it lacked range) and her hurricane sweep was useful. She could also do a good juggle with her multi-hit dragon punch!

Tyris Flare and Kos-Mos are great choices too!

03/31/2013 at 12:55 PM

Two words.

Jihl Nabaat

03/31/2013 at 02:18 PM

I don't know much about her. However, I looked up pictures and she has that whole "well endowed librarian swag" going for her. Much like Quistis from FF8!

03/31/2013 at 03:00 PM's my list

1. Garnet/Dagger FF9- to me she is cute and she had a strong yet gentle personailty.

2. Paine FF10-2- While I was not a fan of the game she was in I loved Paine, she had that dark themed outfit and her personality while the silent type worked for her well.

3. Raven IGAU- Im really liking her look for Injustice Gods Among Us and the voice there doing for her is just awesome, I personally find her more sexy then the other girls in the game.

4. Lianshi Dynasty Warriors- This woman not only has an amazing body but she is smart and strong/fightful in spirit and personailty. I always favored Sun Shang but after DW7, Lainshi became my fave.

Im gonna stop at 4, if I continue you will be sitting here for like a day and a half trying to go through my 10 millions choices.

and yes, while I am a girl I figured I could still put my 2 cents in,lol

03/31/2013 at 05:05 PM

These are good choices, especially Raven,Garnet, and Lianshi. By the way, you're welcomed any time! Talking about sexy girls is open for debate to everyone!

Thanks for stopping by,Nicole!

03/31/2013 at 03:17 PM

Moxxi and Lilith from the Borderlands series are two I really like as well. I wanted to tell you about Danger Girl. There actually is a game with them,it's a PS1 game that I own. It's only a so-so game but retains some of the humor and sexiness. They deserve a next-gen game of their own. The other Lilith, from Darkstalkers, that you talked about is such a great choice. Decadence at it's finest is what she is!

03/31/2013 at 05:36 PM

I used to feel pretty guilty for liking Lilith but considering that started when I was a teen myself and even adult women can be a bit flat chested I wear it with pride!

Moxxi is hawt too. Granted, I would not want to be one of her husbands but I wouldn't mind being one of her lovers!

As for Danger Girl, you're right. It does deserve at least one great game to its' name. It's the equivalent of female James Bond after all!

03/31/2013 at 05:25 PM

In no particular order:

Mai, Elizabeth, Blue Mary (KOF)
Lianshi (Dynasty Warriors)
Chun-li, Juri, Cammy, Viper (Street Fighter)
Blaze (SOR)
Pretty much all the female characters (DOA)

03/31/2013 at 05:38 PM

Our tastes are very much in synch, mate. lol. I do need to eventually create a list of more hawt "western" gamer girls though. I noticed this gathering is rather Japanese-centric so to speak.

03/31/2013 at 07:18 PM

Ain't nothing wrong with that. :p

Seriously though, I just tend to play more Japanese-made games anyway. Have since I was little.

03/31/2013 at 06:35 PM

Tina (DOA)

Makoto (BlazBlue)

Sophitia (SoulCalibur)

Sheena (Tales of Symphonia)

I'm sure there are more out there, but those are the ones I can think of right now

03/31/2013 at 07:07 PM

Makoto and Sophita 4 the win! You have good tastes,Baron!

03/31/2013 at 08:48 PM

Thanks!  I like to think we all have great tastes in our own ways haha

04/03/2013 at 01:10 AM

Your question about the housewives? Simple answer: double standards. Feminists want to make women equal to men, except for things that they can use to their advantage. Want men to stop ogling your breasts? Don't wear push-up bras or shove them right next to our face when we're sitting at the desk. The list goes on. I'd have to say my list of super sexy females would be Noire, Vert, and Nepgear (Hello Chris Hansen. I'd like to play a little game...) from Hyperdimension Neptunia, May and White from Pokemon (May isn't pedophilia, cause if there's a "10 year old" with a rack to rival fully grown women, she's not freakin' 10), Juliet Starling (my only really "muscular" female on the list), and a few others I can't think of at the moment. But needless to say, I highly agree with you statement of pedophilia really being an attraction to prepubescent girls. As I joke often, with my girlfriend being 15: "If nature says she's ready, she's ready!" (And no, FBI, I haven't done anything with her. It is a joke. Go find some extremists.)

04/04/2013 at 11:54 AM

It's cool, bro. lol. You're a teen and she's a teen so it's all good. A few years between people isn't too controversial and after you both age even more it will not even be an issue anymore. (There's also 30-40 year old men who marry 20-25 somethng year old women.)

Don't get me wrong. I do think there is misogyny in gaming. A lot of gamer females put up with grief on Xbox live just for having tits and a vagina. But that's just it. "Gamer harassment" is something "real" effecting real gamers so I'd be more inclined to worry about the treatment of my female fellows than whether or not Juliet Starling's dress is two sizes too small.

Feminism ain't all bad but the movement often directs its' attention at really stupid issues. If books and movies can have variety amongst "grind house entertainment" "romantic smut" and "sophisticated narrative" I don't see why games cannot have the same high-brow and low-brow spectrums.

Sometimes I "want" to think and feel but others times I just want to blow shit up and look at idealized fictional portrayals of human beings who would never exist in real life.

I'm all for feminists helping real women in compromised situations but I don't think they should be on a higher pedestal than men or try to dictate what is acceptable and unacceptable when it comes to entertainment. One group shouldn't decide these things for EVERYONE else!
