I tried Fortnite a few times. The only way I've ever made it into the top 20 is by hiding out and doing nothing until the radiation storm kills me, LOL. I guess it's not bad, but it's definitely overhyped in my book.

Hospital food is definitely overpriced. When my dad was in the Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix I always went out and bought food for the family. The hospital also played Brahms's "Lullaby" over the PA system every time a baby was born.

I wondered how Labo worked. It's not my cup of tea, but it's a pretty novel concept. Reminds me of peripherals I used to see in the 80s.

I have it on 3DS and have played it. It's good, but nothing quite tops the arcade original for me.

I guess DK Arcade was well-enough hidden as an Easter egg in DK64 that it didn't raise any red flags at Ikegami. I also wonder why they only made DK Original Version available for such a short time on 3DS. Moot point now, the actual arcade game is on the Switch.

The Mario vs DK games do the same thing. They haven't made any of them for consoles yet, but I imagine that will change with the Switch. Still, despite all the objective improvements the later games made, nothing quite beats the original.

I was fortunate enough to have access to an 8-bit Atari computer (the 130XE), which had the same chipset as the 5200 but had a lot more RAM and used conventional Atari joysticks. The Atari 8-bit version of DK was the closest you could get to the arcade at the time.

E3 didn't really have much to offer me other than Smash and Fire Emblem for Switch, and I'm glad that all the old characters are returning for Smash Ultimate, including Cloud from FFVII. I'll likely pick up RE2 Remake

Despite that, I'm very happy with the games that have come out this year and the ones that are still in the pipeline for 2018.  I've always felt like E3 was a dinosaur from the 1990s anyway, with companies increasingly doing their big reveals through social media and their own events. And in any event, it's increasingly dominated by EA and Ubisoft, two companies I don't care much about. So I'm going to increasingly look to Nintendo Directs and comparable offerings from my favorite developers and publishers.

Hopefully, games like Breath of the Wild, God of War, or TES 6 will say otherwise.

Yeah, it's sad that Donkey Kong didn't get many good home versions, though the 1994 enhanced GB version was great.

I actually did have a 360 and Vesperia was one of the games on it. I don't have it anymore, and am really looking forward to getting Vesperia for the Switch.

The fireballs are the real assholes, and on top of that, they do have a primitive form of AI that causes them to mob the last remaining rivet on the last stage.

I'd honestly hope it were done better than Bioshock.

Despite my grumpiness, I haven't written it off completely yet. If it looks really interesting at release I might bite anyway. I prefer third-person RPGs. Even in the 1980s, though one of my first RPGs was a first-person RPG, I preferred CRPGs like Ultima where you could see your characters, over ones like Wizardry or Might and Magic.
