Late 80's Number Ones

I remember when I left home for school, I was so disgusted with the vegging out in front of the TV that my whole family did, I would avoid it when I saw fellow students in the lounges doing the same thing. I still don't watch TV very much. Gaming is more participatory, and with a friend, it's a lot of fun. It doesn't feel like vegging out to me.

It's turn-based but with no real pauses. You have to decide quickly what to do. Every turn has a timer and you have to pay attention to when the timer ends so you can choose another action or the monster will smash you good. You can also just run around the battlefield in real time and pick up gems that pop out of enemies to give you health, magic, or boosts. I'm not that far into the game yet so I still haven't gotten completely comfortable with it.

I tried to see RIPD the week after it came out but it was already out of the theaters. I guess word got around after week 1 that it wasn't too good, and it got pulled.

Yea, it's high on my list, but I've got to finish Ni No Kuni first. Whoever sung that slow song about time being a river is nuts. Time is a raging rapids and it's hard to keep up with it.

My 360 backlog is moving along pretty well on the weekends.  I just finished COD3 and am almost done with Civil War: A Nation Divided. Four more games and I'll be done with my 2006 list. The next three will go quickly but I've got to try and finish Oblivion and that will take a few weeks at least.

My backlog on other systems is stagnating because I just can't get the time in on the weekdays. I've only gotten an hour or two into Ni No Kuni on PS3 and only four or five hours into Okamiden on DS. I'm trying though.

Sounds like sooooo many managers I've had to work with. No brains, just pushiness. Gee, I guess being an arrogant prick can get you somewhere. Not me though. I guess that's why I'm at the bottom.

The consoles were so simple too. Hard to break those things and you didn't have to worry about being connected to the internet. Those game carts never broke either. Didn't have to worry about scratching a CD.
