Virginia Review

Posted on 02/18/2017 at 12:36 AM | Filed Under Review

I ... Actually kinda want to play this based on your review. Because now I'm curious. Will my Catholic school upbringing give me the tools I need to unlock the mystery. Or will having graduated twice from and now teaching in the same state school dulled my brain?

Please note: I don't actually believe level of education is the sole determinant of intelligence or ability.

PS4 20th Anniversary Edition has all DLC. Only thing that might put you off is the body count. I never played old ones but old fans seem surprised by that bit.

It was. I don't know why random meat thrown together in a phallic shape and place inside an awkward piece of breading is so damn tasty.

It was a delicious waste of time and resources.

I don't know what to say other than sorry for your loss and maybe you can honor your mom's memory by cheering yourself up since she wouldn't want you to be sad.

I thought 2016 was an amazing gaming year. The Last Guardian was like playing a Miyazaki film with no dialogue and minimal monologue, Rise of the Tomb Raider has a lot of cool places to explore/puzzles to solve, and I got a crapton of discount and free stuff on my PS4.

To be fair, I'm not sure I like certain industry trends, but I'm certainly playing more games than ever.

I do agree with button mashing getting old. I prefer action games to the RPG/strategy stuff others lean toward, but that doesn't mean I don't want strategy or some kind of skill test in them.

Gaming's Greatest Remakes #13: Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Posted on 02/17/2017 at 07:39 PM | Filed Under Blogs

It's on PS+ this month, so if you don't own it and have an account you can own it.

Speaking of which, I still need to play my PS+ copy of the Grim Fandango remaster.

After I beat Psychonauts ... and my free PS+ copy of Broken Age.

I saw Game Grumps play Maniac Mansion, so now that I know this is related, I'm a lot more excited about it. I might actually dl it when I get home.

I kinda want to play the '93 version though. The presentation gives me nostalgia for games I used to play on the middle school computers while my computer teacher mom handled everyone's IT issues late at night.

BaD #17: Captain N's Q&A thing

I am not BaD, how are you?

Do you own any non-Nintendo consoles and what are your favorite and least favorites?

Least and most favorite non-Nintendo things in general, as many as you can think of, especially games/characters?

Could Nintendo do anything to make you less of or not a fan of theirs?

Did you enjoy the Captain N cartoon as a kid and how do you feel now?

Can you rank your favorite series in order for the Nintendo Triforce (Mario, Zelda, Metroid)? What parts of the triforce do you think each would be (i.e. power, love, courage)

Can you guess at least one game I've owned or my older brother owned and I played on the following systems: NES, SNES, N64, PSX, PS2, PS4, DS, GBA, GBC, Game Boy?

How would you feel about a Lego Nintendo game or movie? (Personally, I'd love it).

So it's a junior high math class simulator. How many popsicle sticks does the game allow you to use?

Ok, I'm being a dick. But that's what this reminds me of.

Never was really interested in this, but after the surprise greatness that was CW's The Flash, I may check this out.

BaD # 12- Wii Game Collection # 6

I want to play the original Tomb Raiders some time. I love the rebooted games.

I have Lego Batman 3, but wish I got 2 instead on PS4. I kinda feel like Lego games are the Maddens of nerds and kids. Basically the same games with minor tweaks and different skins. I do enjoy the humor though. And in fairness to Madden, that gameplay probably changes more between titles than in Lego games.

Let's Tap would sound fun if not for the extra peripheral need. I did love Elite Beat Agents.

Line Rider sounds like Kirby's Rainbow Curse on DS. Always wanted to play that one.

Little King's Story sounds like the variety gameplay game I enjoy.

MadWorld always looked so fun. I played a level at a friend's dorm room in college and loved it. The motion controls really did make that game. I forgot that was Platinum studios first. What games did they make as Clover studios beside Viewtiful Joe and Okami, or was that it?
