20 Awesome Ninja Games #19: Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Muramasa is a great game.  Kind of reminds me of a more arcade-y Odin Sphere.  It also makes me think of Legend of Kage for some reason.

Moses was a cool character, too.

Favorite Video Game OST? (BaD 18)

There are so many video game soundtracks that I like, it's hard for me to just choose one.  But if I had to, it would probably be Final Fantasy 6.  But there are a lot of other ones I like, too.  Such as NES Mega Mans, Chrono Trigger, Katamari Damacy, Klonoa, Tales of Legendia, Arkanoid DS, Loco Roco, Ys Seven, and many more!

Well,Taito is still around, so I'm pretty sure Zuntata is, too.  I know they made a lot of the music for Taito's popular moble rhythm game Groove Coaster.

Mario 64 is still one of my favorite 3-D Mario games.  Definitely a milestone in gaming.

Video Games of My Life: Part Seven – 1997-1999 -- N64

The N64 was a great system, but it was also the first console that caused me to buy a competitor's game machine: the PlayStation.  While the games in this era look ugly by today's standards, it was an exciting time in gaming because the possibilities seemed endless.  Plus this is when I started reviewing games professionally.

What's funny is there is another Legend of Kage sequel on the NES called Demon Sword.

Taito made some awesome DS games.  My favorite was Arkanoid DS.  I liked the music in that so much, I imported the soundtrack!  Taito's in-house band, Zuntata, is awesome.  I wonder if they also did the music for Kage 2?

What's Your Favorite Video Game Voice Over Actor? (BaD 17)

Posted on 02/26/2014 at 07:48 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Gosh, I don't really know any specific video game voice actors, but I do know about a lot of cartoon voice actors and many of them are prolific in the video game scene as well (Tara Strong for instance).

I was lucky enough to meet two pretty well-known cartoon voice actors before.  One was Cathy Wesluck.  She does a lot of anime voices like Young Trunks and Puar from the Dragon Ball cartoons.  And she did Spike the Dragon, my favorite character from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic cartoon.  And no I am NOT a Brony, so don't even think about it.

I also got to meet Don Messick once.  He did voices for a lot of classic Hanna-Barbera characters, like Scooby-Doo, Scrappy-Doo, Astro, Ricochet Rabbit, Papa Smurf, and many more.  He also did Muttley from Wacky Races, and when I asked him to do Muttley's laugh, he said he could do it better when he used to smoke!  His last big role was Hampton Pig from Tiny Toons.  I'm really glad I got to meet him when I did because he passed away a few years later.

I just got a review copy of the Tales of Symphonia collection.  Who is your favorite Tales character?  Mine is Grune from Legendia.

The Portal games are brilliant.  Clever gameplay, writing and humor.  GlaDOS is one of the best video game villans ever and Wheatley is awesome.
