Hey everyone - hope you're doing well out there! I know it's been a while since you've heard from me. I've been pretty busy in general lately, between both work and my family. I did recently return to working on PixlCross though and I've finally got the rebooted PC release of it all finished up. I've already shared it with the PixlBit staff, but I wanted to extend the offer to anyone on here interested.

If you'd like a download link to PixlCross on PC, reply here and I'll private message you the link. Any feedback you can provide would be very much appreciated before it goes from being a release candidate to generally available on Steam.

I'll also be producing both Mac and Linux builds of it, so if you're a user of either of those operating systems, let me know and I'll be glad to have you look at it running on either of those platforms (since all my testing has been on the PC release).

Thanks everyone and I hope you enjoy the game!

I'll play it. Hope it works ok with Windows 7.

As far as I've been able to tell it should work across Windows 7/8/10, so hopefully you have no issues. Sent you a link via PM, hope you like it!

I liked when I got to review this game on Wii U a while back.

Any plans on releasing it on other consoles?  LIke the Switch?

Hey Cary - I remember you really enjoying it! I'll shoot you a link to the PC download. I think you'll find it much improved from the Wii U version.

I'd love to port the game to the Switch, considering how hot it is right now, but currently Nintendo isn't offering a solution to run HTML5 games on Switch, which I'm guessing is a reaction to the variety of low quality games that were brought to Wii U on the Nintendo Web Framework.

Once I get through the Steam release for this, I expect I'll have a short period where I'm supporting the game and fixing bugs, but after that, I'd really like to get rolling on something new, where I'll use Unity instead. That'll open up any and all platforms for the game. I always wanted PixlCross to be an introduction to game development for me and it really just took longer and got way more involved than I ever intended (which was a great lesson and learning process, no doubt). Now that I'm on the cusp of moving beyond that I think I'm excited about making a new type of game, something that's more traditional and not a "simple" puzzle game like PixlCross was.

I've actually got a bunch of ideas, but I think the next one I'd like to focus on will be a 2D platformer. Those are truly my favorite kinds of games, and while I know especially now that the indie market is flooded with them, I think it'd be the game I'd enjoy creating the most. If it's not shaping up to be anything special, I might change gears, but I think that's the path forward for now.

Yeah, I think it's time to move on. I have the same problems with my books. I am at a point where I realized that I published my books WAY before they were ready, and now I'm feeling that I have to fix them before I move on to other books. Publishing those books was a learning experience, though.

The thing is, these things we work on are our legacy, and they should be in the best shape before we abandon them.

So I can kind of relate to you take what you learned from the Wii U release to a more perfect Steam release. But as I'm fixing up these books, my eyes are on the future books I want to release, knowing what I know now.

Wow. Cool. I can't wait to see what you make. Game development is so exciting.

You should make a 2-D platformer starring me! :)  Ha ha!

If you still need folks to try out the game, I'd like to give it a spin
