Alright guys, I'm going to try to get down with BaD this year. I have no idea if I'll be successful with it, but here goes nothing.

First, some housekeeping - I made an event on the site so you can tag your blogs with "Blog a Day 2019." Figure it'll be nice to have them all collected in one place. That place being here.

What I'm Up To

Things have been pretty hectic these days. My three boys are getting older and that's made the day-to-day crazier. Nicholas just turned 8 a month or so ago and he's already in second grade! Mikey is 6 as of a couple weeks ago and goes to school with Nicholas, he's in Kindergarten. My youngest, David, is 3 and a half and he's in preschool 3 days a week. Next year he'll do preschool daily.

It's been cold where I am in upstate NY and I have been pretty lax on keeping up on my running. I feel bad about this, but I also hate the cold. Supposedly the weather is going to break next week and start warming up. So maybe I'll do some runs outside. I could also run on my treadmill, but man do I hate doing that. One way or another, I need to get back on that.

Beyond that, tomorrow is a pretty big day. My brother, Phil, is about to get married! I'm really excited for him and I think it should be a really fun event. I'll be toasting him, which is a huge honor, and I'm excited, but still a little nervous to deliver the speech. The kids will be coming along too, so I'll have to go easy on the drinks haha.

He's also decided that for a honeymoon, him and his soon-to-be husband will be traveling the world. As part of his gift, I've been building him a travel blog in my spare time. Hopefully it's something I can wrap up soon because he leaves in about a month.

Since this will be a daily kind of thing, I'll cut it off here and save some other stuff I've got going on in February for other blogs

What I'm Playing

I've been playing No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again for review, primarily. I really love the series and Grasshopper Manufacture in general. While this is kind of a simpler game for the studio, it's still brimming with personality and so far I've seen it tie in The Silver Case and Killer is Dead all in the same universe. I suspect it'll keep tying these disparate Grasshopper universes together and show that in a weird way they're all connected. If you like Grasshopper games, I absolutely recommend it. If you're into simple brawlers, I think it's a good one too, especially if you like offbeat Japanese games.

I also started another Japanese game from a different studio I love, but I'll save that for Monday!

And with that, I'll wrap it up. I'm looking forward to hearing from you all for this year's BaD!

I'm excited for your brother. In lieu of alcohol, I hear meth can be odorless.

I'm definitely tempted to try the BaD thing this year, but I'm afraid I'll jinx PixlBit or something. If memory serves correctly, something always prevents me from completing BaD. I'm still scarred from the first time I did BaD and 1Up died the same month. I guess you could say I'm.....BaD news.  LOL! Ok, I'll stop now.

You're BaD to the bone, Jamie.

Congrats to your brother!!!

Sounds like your boys are a handful now. Well... at least none of them have a driver’s license yet!

My dad bought a treadmill for more cardio. I’ve been meaning to use it, but haven‘t yet. I will though. I am still losing weight though... I’m down 29 pounds total, right a step away from the landmark of 30 pounds.

Thanks man! I'm so happy for the both of them.

29 lbs down is kick ass! You should be proud dude. Losing weight is never easy. Also, slowly incorporating exercise with diet change makes it easy. Doing it all at once is usually a losing battle. At least it always has been for me.

I've always wanted to play the No More Heroes games. I love that over-the-top zany attitude in some Japanese games like God Hand.

If you like God Hand, there's no doubt that you'd love No More Heroes. They're different for sure, but I'd classify both in that crazy Japanese action genre that I personally love so much.

I need to play that Asura's Wrath game too. Also Fists of the North Star series. Oh yea, and Anarchy Reigns (by the God Hand makers), and another one I can't remember the name right now but it has a guy with a talking sword. It'll come back to me.

I made my brother play No More Heroes so he could unlock all the 8-bit mini games for me to play. :)

Hahaha, I can totally believe that! NMH2 was really great.

I am now reminded of that copy of No More Heroes 2 sitting in my backlog lol

Go for it! It's a really fun game and the little 8-bit side games are super fun. Playing this new entry has me pining to play the old ones again for sure.

That is awesome that you are setting up a blog for your brother and his husband's trip around the world. How cool is that for family to check in and see what they are doing and seeing the sights.
