Bethesda Hits the $300 Million Jackpot in Vegas

Fallout: New Vegas Ships 5 Million copies and stores are already placing orders for more. Physical and digital sales combined are over $300 million.

Today Bethesda Softworks announced something unsurprising: New Vegas, the latest release in the Fallout series sold a lot of copies. Combined numbers of the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions shipped-to-date is recorded at 5 million. You can write off those numbers as 'shipped' versus sold, but Bethesda has already received numerous requests for new shipments from their retail partners.

Duke Nukem Forever No Longer Vaporware

Apparently when people said DNF, they really meant Did Not Finish Yet.

It was revealed today that the running joke of the gaming world, Duke Nukem Forever would not remain in limbo for the rest of time. While creating studio 3DRealms is no longer around to finish the title, Take-Two Interactive has acquired the rights and appointed Gearbox Software to take use of the many assets from the game and finish up the original vision.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for XBLA to be Released Without Online Features

The online features will be patched in when the PSN and PC versions are released.

Crystal Dynamics has revealed to GameSpot that the Xbox Live Arcade version of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will not be released with online co-op, voice chat, and online leaderboards when it is released later this month. The online features will be patched into the XBLA version on the release date of the PSN and PC versions.

Activision Reorganizes the Call of Duty Brand

While Treyarch will still make this year's Call of Duty game, newly created Sledgehammer Games will make next year's title.

With the recent departure of Infinity Ward founders, Vince Zampella and Jason West, Activision announced that the Call of Duty title planned for release in 2011, will be developed by Activision's newly formed Sledgehammer Games studio. Activision also announced that 2010's Call of Duty title will still be developed by Treyarch.
