I haven't been playing many games. :( Although I have decided next month, besides Mario, I'm going to buy Senua's Sacrifice. I think that game is RELATIVELY short, so maybe I can get through it. It really piques my interest, so.... Mostly I've been obsessed with my projects again after a month long or so rut when I did nothing, but now I'm working hard. Since I don't have much to talk about when it comes to games, I thought I would summarize the projects I'm working on below, and let you know what they're all about!

wings of grace cover

This is my gritty YA Western/Fantasy novel that takes place in 1920s Oklahoma and the magical world of Iska, home of wizards, elves, and orcs. The set-up is the two worlds are slowly becoming one, bring aspects of each together, in a clash of realities. In it, 14-year-old Delilah Strite and her Uncle Huck must navigate this dangerous world.

I'm about 200 pages in, and I serialize it on Scriggler, here:

void

This is my new space opera. This is also a fantasy story, with dragons and orcs, etc. But it takes place in space. So you have elf planets and orc planets and dwarf planets, etc. etc. and they all intermix like Star Wars. I've worked on this for a while, and am going to be serializing it on Jukepop as soon as it gets approved. I think some of you scifi fans would really like this one. It's dark too!

time tyrants cover

While the original Night Shepherd story had him traveling back to save King Arthur, this one has him traveling forward in order to save the future. Bryce Dayne, also known as Night Shepherd, is the only one who can stop the Time Tyrants, who have seized the Dayne genetic line to enslave the future. This one is done, but needs a rewrite, which I will do when I serialize it on Jukepop, shortly.

satun cover

This is my super weird, "New York City is a spaceship" wacked out story inspired by a mystical experience I had in Brooklyn about ten years back. I can't say much more than that, but I hope to serialize it soon.

nigh shepherd 2nd cover

Night Shepherd in 'Nam! Here, Night Shepherd travels back to the Vietnam war to try to save a CIA project that went awry. Expect grit and violence. Gonna be serializing this on Jukepop once it gets reviewed and approved by them.

lava

This is me and Gregg's new, non-Crumbling Sky novel. In it, a Native American teen uses the perverse magics of his angry ancestors to wage a fiery war to retake the united states for his people. Pretty fucked up controversial stuff. I feel like now is the time for this story though. WIll be serializing this on Jukepop too.

emma cover jp

This one isn't really developed yet besides the thinking about it. It's a short prequel to Gustav Flaubert's Madame Bovary that shows Emma before she gets married.  Trying to redeem her somewhat, I guess.

And that's that!  Busy busy!

That's a lot of books!  Do you make any dough when you publish them?

A little. I'm working on it, Cary!

it is kinda perfect isn't it? An entire accident - I used three images, one of fire, one of the Native American, and one of the horses, and they just went together perfectly. Probably can't use it to really publish it, but at least I have an idea of the cover designer when it's time.

That's a shame. I think it's excellent.

I might be able to contact the owners of the paintings and ask them if I can use it. We'll see.

What's a JukePop?

it's a website and mobile app where you can serialize stories. I like it a lot, but the only problem is it takes time to get stories approved. But the good thing is it weeds out a lot of crap and spam.

I've been on this old school radio shows kick and I think it would be interesting if you made an audiobook version of On the Wings like a 30s radio show.

I would love to do something like that!
