Last Battle is a Sega Genesis game I had when I was a kid. It's really hard. But also really cool.

It's based on the anime Fist of the North Star, but for some reason its a different IP, I'm not sure why and I'm too lazy to look it up. Must be legal reasons.

Like I said, it's a tough game. Never beat it. You have one life. If you die, game over. As the game goes on, you do get stronger though. Once you've "powered up," the main character rips off his shirt Hulk Hogan style and bares his awesome pecs and abs.

When you punch guys they fliy across the screen. When you kick them, they launch into the sky. However, it's the damn bosses that are tough as hell.

The music is great. Used to just listen to it as a kid. Very epic but also funky.

The boards are mostly 2D, walk to the right affairs but every level there is a labyrinth which is confusing and very difficult. The game is made up of four big chapters. There is a way to continue your game if you die in a later chapter, but I can't remember how it works.

My younger brother was better than I was at this. He got to the fourth chapter. I had a friend when I was a kid who said he beat it.

Maybe.

At the time I don't know if they would be fine in North-America with explodig heads/bodies haha. Happens quite a bit in the anime, and in the Japanese release of this game.

There’s some bosses who explode, but nothing like the anime. Man, it must be almost twenty years since I watched that movie.

"He said it was castle Aaaaaarzak". (Monty Python Holy Grail reference).

Enemies flying across the screen and into the sky sounds like Fist of the North Star. I want to go find this game and play it.

It’s pretty cool. Definitely captured my imagination when I was a kid.

I bet SEGA didn't want to pay licensing fees for an anime that not very many Americans were familiar with at the time.

Yeah. That was way before anime got popular here.
