I remember seeing the original article and I wasn't a fan of this current craze of making a more powerful version of their console. Sony and Microsoft started this, but I didn't want to see Nintendo jump on the bandwagon, and I'm glad they didn't. I like the idea of a cheaper Switch to get more folks to jump on board. It worked with the 3DS and I don't see why it wouldn't with the Switch.

A cheaper Switch sounds good to me. It would have to hit the $100 mark to get me on board right now, though, which I don't think is possible. 

Seems like, with enhanced versions, either tech is moving so fast that a console can't wait a full generation before needing an upgrade; or, another console skew is a bone thrown to retailers who are probably feeling the hit of digital game sales; or, publishers just want another thing to sell. It's probably all of those.
