Xenosaga is a huge JRPG trilogy that was released for the PS2, and was a sequel of sorts to the PSONE's Xenogears. It's also related to the modern Xenoblade games.

The game is notable for its complex storyline, and hours upon hours of cut scenes. I only made it about halfway through the first game in the trilogy, but I've been haunted by it ever since. I'm even considering digging out my PS2 slim to play it again. Ya never know with me.

Basically, it's a lot of turnbased combat, exploration, and heavy philosophical allegories. And how can you go wrong with that?

Are you talking about maybe just finishing the first game...or the whole trilogy? Do you have them all?

Oh yes. I have them all. Surprised

According to howlongtobeat.com those games are all between 30 and 40 hours to beat the main story, which, to be honest, is quite a bit less than I figured each of those would go (they're potentially much longer, of course, if you are a completionist). So for three games totaling 100-110 hours, I'd say that's actually pretty doable.

...unless you're a completionist Sealed

I played Xenogears back in the day and about halfway through I had to sit through an hour of text, then fight a battle, and then sit through another hour of text.  I stopped playing after that.  I almost lost all faith in Square after that, but then they brought out Brave Fencer Musashi so I was happy again.

When my friend imported Namco X Capcom and we'd play it, we'd make KOS-MOS sit in a corner and not play with everyone else.  We were not nice to KOS-MOS.

Aw. Poor KOS-MOS!

What do you know, I still have the first game in my PS2 collection. Always meant to get to it.

I really dug it. But it gets tough.
