So. I've been busy. After finishing Tales of Vesperia and Ratchet and Clank, I've been kind of meandering back and forth between games. What I've probably been playing the most is Red Dead Redemption 2. I've really gotten into it, and have been cranking up the sound - hoof beats have been thundering through the house. I guess I'm about a quarter to a third into it. I played it a bit when it came out, but I got distracted of course, and it got forgotten. I think the horse mechanics are better than BoTW, but that's just my opinion. And I think it's the best looking game on the PS4.

I think I told you I've been streaming my PS4 to my iPad and playing it on there. I know it's kookie, but it works for me. Now I've added something else to the program. I got the Nvidia Geforce Now app, which lets you stream the steam, epic, or GOG games you already own to your devices. I've got a bunch of steam games already, so I figured I'd try it. It works very well. I'm using the PS4 controller (I haven't tried mouse games yet). It's an imperfect system: first of all, as of right now, Geforce Now is limited to 1080P streaming. However - all the other settings are on ultra (these games are running remotely on Nvidia's super cards), so the games look amazing. I've mostly been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and Elite: Dangerous, but I've sampled some other games too.

One game I've really wanted to play again has been Trails In the Sky: Legend of Heroes. I played it on PSP and Vita, but it's a long long game (part of a trilogy!) so I never finished it. It got released on Steam a while back, and it's discounted for the Golden Week sale, so I picked it up for ten bucks. I'm still tweaking the video settings.

Finally, I have embarked on another Tales game - Tales of Zestiria. It's very different from Vesperia, more complex, but I appreciate the differences, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to play it so soon after Vesperia.

What are you all playing?

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if Red Dead Redemption had better horse riding physics than Breath of the Wild.  The horse controls in BotW were wonky.  I hardly ever rode my horse.  SPOILER ALERT, SKIP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH IF YOU DON'T WANT BOTW SPOILED FOR YOU.  At the end of the game they let you ride your horse to defeat Ganon, and the horse controls and camera were so bad that Ganon stomped my horse flat.  And since it was the end of the game, I couldn't even go to revive him.  So we had a moment of silence for Turbo Horse after I beat the game.

I played Tales of Zestiria for a little bit.  I skipped out on the Tales game before it, Tales of Xillia, but I heard that Zestiria's music was done by Go Shiina, so I picked it up.  Turns out Go Shiina only did SOME of the music and none of the songs in the game sounded like his.  In case you don't remember, Go Shiina is my favorite video game music composer and did the music for games like Tales of Legendia and Mr. Driller.  The rest of Zestiria was bland and I didn't stay interested for long.  I haven't played a new Tales game since.  What could Namco do to get me back into the Tales games?

And right now I'm mostly playing New Pokemon Snap.  It's great so far!

Hmmm, maybe Namco could make them shorter? Laughing

Red Dead R2 is crazy good-looking.

Streaming GOG games to an iPad sounds great!

I must've played Zestria for like 30 minutes once. I was in a weird mood and said to my friend, "this is a girl's game". haha. "It's so chatty and pretty and all." haha. I'll still give it another chance some time, all prejudices aside.

Ha ha. It is a little girly, but it's good. Laughing

I think it was Berseria now I think of it.

I had Trails in the Sky on PS Vita. I've been playing Cold Steel 3 on Switch off and on. I have all four Cold Steel games split betweeh PSV and Switch.

I tried Cold Steel on my Vita way back I think but didn't get into it. I'd like to give it a more patient try.
