Bayonetta 2 is here!

Posted on 10/26/2014 at 02:26 AM | Filed Under Blogs

So tempted to pick this up. Frankly I played the demo for the first one and felt like there was so much dazzle and visual pyrotechnics that I could barely see what I was doing. Still, with all the talk it's garnered, and the great dev team (which I admire), and the insane boss fights, I really want to give it another shot. It's now my third reason to own a Wii-U behind Pikmin 3 and Zelda Wind Waker HD.

In memory of my father

That's really cool. My Dad and I also went fishing sometimes. I'll be at the beach at Thanksgiving and was thinking on a boat trip kinda like what we used to do. I wasn't so much into fishing myself. I just wanted to see the fish and maybe take pictures. But I fished because he wanted to.

Final Spooktober Update

Selling your books to buy video games? Ha ha. I never thought of that when I was in school. I was so attached to my books being a book worm and all. I wanted more of them.

My work friend and I were making a lot of Slender Man jokes one night. I didn't know there was a game.

What Bayonetta Could Learn from The Big Lebowski

Posted on 10/25/2014 at 03:50 AM | Filed Under Blogs

"The lady doesn't abide." is something Bayonetta might say. Wasn't Deadly Premonition a kind of David Lynch kind of weird game? I think it would be cool if devs would do some interesting twists on the mostly linear type games we play these days. Thing is, The Big Lebowsky didn't do well at the box office and neither would a game with a unique bent like that (note Psychonauts and Eternal Darkness both bombing). Granted, people caught on to the greatness of the Big Lebowski eventually, but what game dev can afford to wait? Someone who's got some clout and can afford to make a creative and interesting game and take risks. I wonder who that could be?

Spooky Month Blog #2: Scary and Not-So Scary Random Songs

Lots of good choices there. I sampled all and watched Thunder Kiss '65 all the way through because, although I don't dig everything Mr. Zombie has done, some of his songs are really great. I also watched Aphex Twin all the way through. That's my first full exposure to them and I was really gripped by that video. Really scary. Love the long full scream in the song too. No one has the guts to go full out like that in a song. I'm impressed. Then I watched Re: Your Brains all the way through. Funny stuff. Thanks for all that.

Ah yeah, that fake lego Iron Hulk is fantastic! Watched the new Avengers trailer the other day and my friend at work and I watched it three times it was so good.

I make fun of my friend Mark all the time 'cause he acts like a true Philly fan by being too negative and turning on his own team when they lose. Ha ha. The scars from the long years of losing teams still run deep I guess; although, we're talking pre 20th century now. The Andy Reid years were good ones, I keep reminding him.

Video Games: The Movie

Yea, it's a time sink kinda like Diablo or something. There's always more to do. My friend Mark's already got Golden Keys ready for me when we start playing on Sunday.
