This sounds like a better batch of games. I loved Life Force on the NES, and played it a ton. But that Konami code was key.
I've played a ton of Galaga in arcades, and I was pretty good at it for a while. Addictive game.

Hey, great blog! This game sounds nuts. I've never played an Ultima game, and they were probably too complex for me when they came out. But I've looked at them on GOG. I don't know if I'll ever get to trying them out, but I have respect for the series.
I want to read Cloud Atlas, but it's a little long, and I've mostly been sticking with short books because of my attention span. But I've been promising myself that 2021 is the year I read long books.
2004 was not a great year for me. I was living in Philly and very lonely.
Thousand Year Door is a GREAT game. The pinnacle of Paper Mario, for me, so far.
I love Life Aquatic. I've watched it a lot. So very well done. I really like Anderson's movies.
I didn't like Braid either. Didn't know what to do. But I liked the aesthetic.
I was crazy about Bionic Commando when I was a kid. It was a real art with the grappling hook once you got the hang of it.
I think Grin did a good job with this. But boy, did they blow it with the 3D version.
yeah, it's weird not being able to jump in a game. I remember when Ocarina of Time came out and the jump was automatic and people were like "What the hell is this?" But it worked pretty well!
I think NES graphics are hit and miss. Some games, like SMB3, are elegant. But others are a bit ugly.
Streets of "What the hell do I do in this game?"
That "Art of the Atari" book I posted about a while back had a lot of neat anecdotes about the early days of games.
Yeah... load times. That's one thing I enjoy about the Switch, they aren't very long. I think if you're using a disc, there's always going to be load time of some sort. PS2 load times can be atrocious.
I wouldn't mind trying that new Battletoads game. I heard it's pretty good.
Keep on farmin'!
I really liked play VII on the 3DS, but I didn't finish it. I'd like to. I love Final Fantasy, but I really love DQ too. In 11, I just opened the ocean gate and am about to head out into the sea.
I was smoking a lot of weed in 2003, and working at the movie theater. We had free reign there, and connected a ps2 and N64 in the projection booth to play during movies. We played a lot of Goldeneye and GTA3. Fun times.
